    When was your original EAD expiring ? I am in similar situation. My ead is expiring in Oct/2001 and I havent applied for renewal. When can I go to INS and ask for renewal ?

    Interim EAD, 90 day rule

    Yes....but........ The 90 days rule applies to even new EAD application, but the caveat here is that, you must have I-485 receipt to get the interim EAD or some proof of applying of I-485. If you already got the receipt of I-485, you can get interim EAD after 90 days.

    What if you go to Chicago INS office What if you go to Chicago INS office and ask them to stamp. They might stamp. If it is convenient, probably you should try .

    Congratulations ! I guess, you should receive the approval notice in mail, may be in a week or so, which you need to take to local INS office and get your passport stamped.
