    Charlotte, NC - N-400 Timeline

As I understand, all FP appointment letters are coming from NBC these days (not from Charlotte). It looks like it is already pretty common to have FP in 1-2 months after submitting the application form. It is very encouraging.

    If application is denied ...

I have a "theoretical" question. If a citizenship application is denied due to "technical" issues such as submission before 4 years and 9 months, not living 3 months in the same state or district, not passing civic or English test, failure to provide required documents on time, not showing for...

    Raleigh/Durham NC - N-400 Timeline

Bobsmyth, congratulation on passing the interview and thank you for sharing your experience. I have a few questions. 1) Did the officer read civic questions or were they written? 2) When checking the application form, may you use your own copy or are you supposed to memorize all the...

Case File Review Notice: what is it?

Did you and your spouse get the yellow forms at the same time? I have not received mine yet while my wife got it a few days ago.

Case File Review Notice: what is it?

Does everyone receive such a notice before receiving an interview invitation letter? I have not received the notice although my wife and I sent our docs together.

Case File Review Notice: what is it?

My wife has received a Case File Review Notice/Interview Document Check List (yellow form). This forms just lists a few docs to be brought to a (future) naturalization interview which is not even scheduled yet (such as Birth Certificate, DL, Birth Certificates for kids etc). Is it a usual thing...

    Raleigh/Durham NC - N-400 Timeline

I think it started this summer (you can find this info on Internet). Now all naturalization cases are sent to NBC for initial processing.

As far as I understand, you can even change addresses as long as all of them are within the same district.

    Raleigh/Durham NC - N-400 Timeline

Thank you. I could have applied before moving to my current location but I decided to move first and then apply in 1 month. In this case I did not need to deal with address change (I only sent AR-11). When they see that I moved 1 month before applying, will they check the previous address to...

    Raleigh/Durham NC - N-400 Timeline

I am sorry for interrupting the discussion about interview letters. I have a different question. As I understand, both Durham and Chapel Hill belong to the same DO. If I had been living in Durham for 10 months then moved to Chapel Hill and 1 month later sent N-400 I am still considered to be in...

Name spelled in a native language

Part 1C requires to list all the names used. Is it required to write a name spelled in a native language (which does not use an English alphabet)? As far as I remember, I-485 had a question about the native spelling while N-400 does not say that directly. Thank you.

I forgot I have a different name on passport

I think they also make some changes to the spelling of the last name and first name while doing the name check. I am wondering if someone really has experienced delays after the interview because of corrections of "other" names or is it just an assumption that this can happen?

    Mistake in application form

How can I do it before an interview? Is there any procedure? As far as I understand, when name check is conducted they try different spellings of first/last names close to the original ones.

    Mistake in application form

Yes, I submitted my application. It is kind of strange to make such the mistakes taking into account the fact that I was reviewing my application for about a week before sending. As far as I remember some of the posts on this forum, some applicants do make mistakes in their forms and correct...

    Mistake in application form

N-400 requires to list all other names used. It looks like I mispelled one character in my first name. I actually have not used this other name. It was just in one of my previous passports (that expired many years ago) when our consulate started varying our last/first names spellings. Just in...

    N-400: a few questions

Thank you for your replays. How should I include the statement "To the best of ..." regarding my employment dates: on a separate sheet of paper or just add after the job title (something like "dates are to the best of my recollection")?

    N-400: a few questions

Some of my questions have been probably already discussed but I just want to make sure I understand the situation. 1) 3 month residency requirements. As I understand, this requirement is to reside for at least 3 months in the same state or district which does not mean I am supposed to have the...
