My company got acquired by another in Jan-03 but nothing has changed in regards to my job position , same location / title and doing the same things specified in LC/I-140.
Also , I am still getting paid under the old company but the payroll system is going to be merged with the new company...
I got my AP over this past weekend. Sent my app to NSC on 7/24 and after three months , got the approval valid from 10/31/03.
One scary thing happened to my friend ( VSC )... he got an RFE asking the need for the AP saying it should only be used for an emergency. But the good new is , on the...
I saw the same message ( on July 8th blah .. ) with my case ( ND7/9/02 ) and I haven't contacted BCIS for anything , no change of address etc. The only time I called them ( 9/03) was for scheduling a FP at local INS for my eEAD.
- Applied on-line 9/4/03
-FP/Photo on 9/23/03
-Mailed supporting docs on 9/24/03
-Received card on 10/18/03 with valid from 12/13/03 , that's when my first EAD expires.

02 = INS fiscal yr
076 = day of the fiscal yr

FWIW ...
Me and my wife applied for EAD/AP on our own and got our APs mailed directly to us and had to pick up our EADs at the local INS office.
I am not sure how attorney gets into picture unless he/she files them for you. But its INS ... who knows what they do :-)
With my understanding from the above links ( http://www.murthy.com/UDnewins.html ),
If one is on H/L status ( without a Visa ) and uses AP to re-enter , then can still continue to be on H/L as long as they work for the same sponsoring employer. You only lose your H/L statul only if you EAD to...

As you know they track the entry/exit dates ... and if you apply for an extension beyond six months on your first visit , there is a chance they might reject the visitor visa in your home coutry.
It happened to my friends parents .... they applied for the ext and left US before any decision has...
