Any DV 2005 waiting for AOS interview?

Welcome!!! We are all in the same boat and what a "lovely boat" this is, huh?!?! Thank you for sharing your experience with us! At this stage - I know nothing about my case - I mean I don't have a clue if this delay is because of security clearance or some other reason I am not aware of...

Any DV 2005 waiting for AOS interview?

Hi Maya and Nora, Given the slow movement/no movement of EU numbers for the past 3 months, I started thinking that KCC ran out of visas for EU region and this was the reason I called KCC yesterday - just to check if they still schedule interviews for EU. The lady I spoke to said they were...

Anyone from Poland - need advise DV2006

Guys, My advice is CHOOSE CP! I am doing AOS and I have been waiting to be called for an interview for the past 4 1/2 months!!! I have a lawyer who made an inquiry of my case and still waiting to hear from USCIS - very tough game! At this stage, I am not sure if I will be able to complete...

    DV-2006 and AOS questions

Hi Darekd, Yes, I included whatever was required from the instructions they sent - I sent the pictures and the cover page with the case number. I have also heard that for AOS it is not really important to send the pictures now because you must send pictures when you file for AOS - I guess it...

    Lawyer or congressman?

Hi Maya, Check this website: http://www.issues2000.org/Senate/David_Vitter.htm Scroll down and see section "David Vitter on Immigration" - clearly he doesn't favor immigration. Maybe it is better to contact Mary Landrieu, check this...

    DV-2006 and AOS questions

Congratulations! 1. It is up to you. You can call KCC and ask them if they need the forms or not, but I sent the forms back to them indicating on form DSP-122, question # 4 "BCIS" -- this way they knew about my intention to proceed with AOS. 2. I had a lawyer to do this for me, so I...

    Lawyer or congressman?

Hi Maya, This is a very good question. I guess – you pretty much don’t know unless you try both. My understanding so far is that if the local office is busy processing many people, there is chance that the lawyer can do very little to speed up the process. In cases like this it is maybe...

Any DV 2005 waiting for AOS interview?

Hey Nora, You should also try the local office - you don't lose anything if you visit them. You might be lucky if the officer happens to be a sympathetic one - give it a try! There's nothing to lose at this point! Regards, sushi

I won Gree card 2006; Adjusting status for F1 visa

    1) I believe you still need an official document for your marriage - it is written in the instructions of form I-485 (the AOS form) that you need to submit it. Clearly, if the document is in English you don't need translation, but if it isn't - you do. 2) You may wait until you file the AOS...

Any DV 2005 waiting for AOS interview?

Hi Maya, Sorry to hear about your experience with the local office… I am not really surprised because the lady I spoke to when I first went to visit the local office got confused 3 times when trying to locate my paperwork…I hope the lawyer can speed up the procedure for you, if not, write to...

Any DV 2005 waiting for AOS interview?

Hi Maya, I think you should probably do it. Most probably the lawyer will generate an inquiry for your case and depending on the answer he gets from CIS he will go from there. What bothers me however, is the fact that sometimes lawyers are not given any attention by CIS especially if the...

I won Gree card 2006; Adjusting status for F1 visa

It doesn't matter. Just make sure that if you marry outside US, for AOS you will need to translate and legalize the marriage cerificate if it is not written in English.

    Dv-2005- Aos

I think you can file AOS application together with EAD at the same time, but I'm not 100% sure because I didn't apply for EAD and I never did any research on this issue. If you go to: http://uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/i-485.htm you will see that if you use USPS you need to mail...

Any DV 2005 waiting for AOS interview?

Sorry, I didn't mean to freak you out but this is really what I feel... Yes, I know that DV cases are handled separately but what makes me angry is the fact that my lawyer made an inquiry 2 weeks ago, I went personally to the local office a week ago- and so far - absolutely no result. Maybe I...

Hey Maya, thanks for letting us know - although it makes me think that my case is majorly stuck

Any DV 2005 waiting for AOS interview?

No Maya, I haven't heard about such a thing but I think it seems highly unlikely to be true since interviews are conducted in the local offices and it is up to the local office when you will be called for the interview - I guess it depends on their availability as well.

Any DV 2005 waiting for AOS interview?

This is exactly what I don't know - my first question I posted - how long is too long? What is the reasonable time to expect to be called for an interview after filing for AOS? I have been waiting for over 4 months - is this normal? I hope somebody who already has a scheduled interview to...
