Floyd, Congratulations! Glad it worked out for you. Just out of curiousity...what is it that you did that led to them requiring you to file I-602? froff

    GC through asylum

I agree with the previous post. Definitely check out the Asylum forum. Do a search first because it has been discussed pretty frequently. I warn you (as an observer of these discussions), there essentially is two camps of people (one saying it's ok and another say no). By and large these two...

Who to notify after adjustment of status to GC?

Hi all, I am a new GC holder. Was wondering what people's experiences are in terms of who (e.g., Social Security Administration, their employer, etc.) they notified after adjustment of status to make sure that all official records are current. Who needs to know this new status? Thanks...

    Nd 2002 Club!

juxhin, yes, my case was transferred to TSC. i don't remember when exactly, but it was probably in 2004 or 2005. it seems that things do speed up when cases are transferred to TSC. i submitted medical as part of the RFI that they sent me. it was not filed along with my I485 in 2002. good...

my wife case transferred to san francisco office

FBI, "nunc pro tunc" means "now for then". It's a legal procedure for you to file for something after the deadline (in this case before you turned 21 and was still eligible for adjustment from being a derivative asylee) has passed. I-589 is the application for asylum status. I'm not sure...

    Update on adjustment

Google59, You'll have to wait for the letter. It will specify what you need to send them. Good luck with that! It's moving along....

What TAX form should I fill out?

I think I misread your situation. My apologies. This is what the IRS say about resident versus non-resident for tax purposes. You should and should have filed as a resident if you met the "substantial presence test" (see below). ************************************ Topic 851 -...

What TAX form should I fill out?

Here's something to consider. I wonder what people's thoughts are on this. What if for 2005 you were an asylee (and like previous years would have filed the "NR" form when tax preparation time comes around), but officially GC is granted in 2006. Does one file as a resident or non-resident for...

    Confuse for this message

My case was also trasferred to the Texas center a year or two ago. My understanding is that they are using the resources of the other centers to speed up processing. Ignore the length of time they state on the notice. It's not very accurate. Be patient...my guess is you'll get other notices...

    10,000/year cap lifted?

I found this on a reputable website (The American Immigration Law Foundation, http://www.ailf.org/lac/lac_realidjointnotice_052005.shtml) The REAL ID Act eliminates the asylee adjustment cap. This is good for asylees. The change in law does not affect the Ngwanyia settlement. The Settlement...

Is there any e-mail for TSC?

I called the national CIS number maybe about 3 months ago informing them that I did not receive the RFE that they sent me. My case had been transferred to the Texas service center and the representative I talked to said the only way he was able to inform TSC is through email (which he did while...

    Back Home my Homies

Welcome HOME!!! I've been away from this for a while. But of course, you're around and giving supportive and helpful feedback to all who come. Bless you! I was wondering, what are your thoughts (from hearing so many experiences) on being approved citizenship if a person is honest...
