No. As far as I know, you cannot work on an expired EAD. The receipt for renewal is no good for working. You can try to get an iEAD if it has been 90 days since you applied for EAD. **This is not a legal advise - Consult your attorney for that**

Status ? While applying for EAD renewal, what do you write in the status if your H1 has already expired? "Adjustee" or "I-485 pending" Also the I-94 has expired. Is it okay to send a copy of that?
