    Help : Can I obtain a J1 if I already have a B1?

You can have more than one US visas; however, make sure you use the right one to enter the US. If you used a wrong one, you will have to file for a change of status might take a really long time (could take 6 months).

Need Urgent Help regarding J1 for termination from accepted program

You can still apply for other visas other than H/L/K. You can even get another J visa and apply for the waiver at the end.

    J1 wavier-emergency and worried

Are you subject to the two-year rule based on the skill list or the government funding? (This is indicated on the DS-2019.) If it is a skill list, it is easier to get it waived with the no-objection letter from your country's embassy. The process takes up to 3 months, so it's a good idea to get...

New J1 visa while already have a J1 visa

New J1 visa while already have a J1 visa

If you are subject to the 2-year rule, you cannot change your status while remaining in the US (see page 2 of DS-2019). You can get a new J-1 by returning to your home country, then applying for another J-1.

J1 Waiver while staying in India

I was in the same situation as you. Each of my J-1 visas is 4-8 months apart. So, I had to get a fresh DS-2019 and J-1 visa stamp three different times. I was not in the US between each one.

    overstayed j1 visa

The J-1 visa has the 30-day grace period following the expiration date of the visa (according to the DS-2019). Within the grace period, the visa holder can remain in the US; however, he cannot continue to work/attend training.

J1 Waiver while staying in India

You do not have to obtain a waiver to apply for another J-1 visa. The 2-year rule only prevents you from changing your status to H/L/K visa or lawful permanent residence. I have held three J-1 visas without having to obtain a waiver between each one. I recommend you should apply for a waiver...

I think she has already received her waiver... I do not know of the process to change the status. Perhaps, you could ask in the H visa forums. Your case is a simple COS/AOS case.

They start processing after they receive ALL required documents. That means the 4-6 week processing time starts after they receive your NOS. Good luck.

J1 VISA with Permanent Residency Pending

For interns, J1 seems to be the only option (unless you are Canadian or Mexican). This kind of opportunity doesn't come often, so I guess you just have to try!

    H-1B waiver clarification

For H1B, your employer has to initiate the process which means that you need to have a job offer from an US company. I don't know what you are trying to do in Canada. It is generally more difficult to obtain an US visa from countries other than your permanent residence.
