DV 2025 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

Putting N/A in the preparer or interpreter’s section (when no preparer or interpreter was used) is NOT recommended. Take a look at the sample prefilled I-485 and follow that. We’ve had reports in the past of the AOS package being rejected and returned to the applicant for “missing signature” because N/A was listed under preparer/interpreter’s sections.
in that case my comment above yours , might mislead people, can you please delete it ? thank you .

1. You are eligible to file for EAD with your AOS application. However, be sure you review the "AOS Package" and "AOS_FAQ" tabs of the AOS Process spreadsheet to ensure the implications of using an AOS based EAD to undertake authorized employment while your AOS application is pending.
2. Go through the AOS_FAQ tab of the AOS Process spreadsheet.
Thank you!

Hello everyone,

I am planning to pay the DV fee for me and my wife. Should I make one money order including both of the fee or different money orders for each?
Please let me know.

One money order.
Hi Mom. We are still waiting for our NOA, but one of our cases went from "Case was received" to "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" today. No NOA still. Does it mean that bio was waived? Does it mean anything at all? Thank you!

You will receive a separate notice, (in place of the bio appointment letter) if your bio is being waived.

Do you have USPS Informed Delivery in place? If you do not, I recommend you initiate and have it in place as this enables you to know in advance if any USCIS correspondence that already got scanned as coming your way goes missing if it ends up not showing up for delivery.

Didn't have it on, but now I do, thank you! Nothing in it yet, I assume it does not capture anything prior to it being turn on. Will keep an eye out for new letters.

Hello!
Is it ok to submit an entry for DV2026, just in case, or does it impact the AOS process for 2025 win?

Also, might be an opportunity for a paper trail to add the spouse there if they can see it?

You and your spouse both can apply for 2026 as separate principal applicants (hence double the probability). Its not going to impact your 2025 win.

Hello all. Does someone received NOA through mail after your case was recorded? We got only messages on phone that say our case received and information will follow through mail. It was two weeks ago.

We received text msg a week after delivery date and received mail in another 10 days and also we can see the status on the USCIS portal.

Yes, i see status. But my husband worries that 1145 means we will receive all online.

I don’t think so. Although we filed 1145 with both email and sms options, they only use sms. And that’s is only for notifications of receiving our documents at lock box. I am sure they will send you via mail to your address.

No, you will not. As a matter of fact, you will not receive any other text message going forward.

Meanwhile, you should add your case to the 2025 Timeline spreadsheet.

Congratulations on your selection for DV 2025

This Thread is intended for DV 2025 selectees currently based in the US who wish to proceed with their selection by processing AOS (Adjustment of Status).

The AOS process may initially seem complicated and confusing; and you probably have a gazillion questions to ask. But before you start posting those questions, please take some time and go through the AOS Process Spreadsheet (link below). It has a step by step guide on DV based AOS process. Note, there are several tabs/sheets on the spreadsheet, you’re encouraged to go through them all. If you have follow up questions AFTER going through the spreadsheet, then feel free to post them on this Thread.

Be sure to also take advantage of the DV 2024 Timeline Spreadsheet for tracking your progress once you get started. Don't wait until you've completed the process before updating the spreadsheet, updating it as you progress along will be helpful to you and your fellow AOSers.

Another useful tool put together for your benefit is the DV Tracker - Unique Situations Spreadsheet - this spreadsheet contains summarized information about certain cases such as those denied due to early filing, outcome of cases for asylum pending DV filers, cases/FOs with waived interviews, follow to join (FTJ) outcomes, etc. You’re encouraged to review this tool also.

DISCLAIMER:
The spreadsheet is a GUIDE based on collections of experience - it is not USCIS sanctioned (but definitely more detailed than any information you can get directly from USCIS - either in person or on the phone). It is also a lot more reliable than what you will get from most immigration attorneys. However, please remember, while you may be relying on this spreadsheet and the subsequent guidance you will get in this forum free of charge, you're still personally responsible for your own case at the end of the day.

Good luck!

NOTE:
DS260 form submission is not compulsory for AOSers, however, submitting it is encouraged/recommended. And if you're wondering "how do I complete the DS260 form"? Completing the DS260 for DV lottery entrants by Simon is your go to source.
I see only for 2024 under first post for this fiscal year

Long-time lurker here—thanks to everyone for keeping this incredible resource active!

I’m a second-year undergrad student on an F-1 visa, attending school on a full-ride scholarship. I initially planned to proceed with Adjustment of Status (AOS) after finding out I was selected for DV2025, as the embassy in my home country has been notoriously slow with DV processing (they only reached CN EU7xxx for DV2024, while my CN is EU21xxx). However, after doing some more digging, I’m conflicted about whether to continue with AOS or attempt Consular Processing (CP) in a different country.

Here are a few questions that are making this decision challenging:

1. Will my financial situation affect my AOS case? I don’t receive financial support from my parents, as my scholarship and part-time work-study cover all my expenses. However, I have minimal savings, which might raise concerns about being a public charge. Would having a distant relative (a U.S. citizen) sponsor me help in this situation?
2. How does the Philadelphia Field Office (FO) handle AOS cases? I’ve heard the processing speed of the field office can make a big difference. Does anyone have experience with the Philadelphia FO, especially for DV AOS cases?
3. What would you do in my position? This is an open-ended question, and I understand if you can’t give a definitive answer. But if you were in my shoes, would you go with AOS or opt for CP in a different country? I’m willing to miss classes and take on the financial hit of traveling if that would make the process easier.

Thanks in advance for any insights!
