DV 2023 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

Did you indicate on your DS260 that your spouse will be processing FTJ or not?

Anyway, regardless of what you indicated on your DS260 form, the FTJ process must be completed by the end of the FY. Looking at the way things are going, I do not think you’ll have enough time to get the I-824 approved in order for your case file to get forwarded to the embassy to enable your spouse get scheduled for an interview there.
I did not file form DS-260. I filled "No" in form I-485

I did not fill DS-260.
So KCC is not aware your spouse will be processing FTJ. Anyway, if you don’t mind the possibility of loosing your FTJ filing fee, you can give it a shot. I however doubt you’ll have enough time to complete the process before the FY is over.

Thanks for the reply. So that means Brooklyn, NY FO is putting me in quota limit danger for this year. Also I most likely to wait for September if they do it like they did before. Changing my address at this moment may help me to receive an interview before the FY ends?
No, an address change at this point will actually cause more harm for your case. It’s not like your case automatically gets reassigned to a new FO following a change of address. The case will will only get reassigned after the IO at the current FO reviews/or is ready to adjudicate and then discovers you’re no longer under their jurisdiction. That is when the case gets sent back to the NBC for reassignment.

Thanks Mom. You helped a lot.

I want to appreciate the effort of this forum.
Today my case was approved and New card Ordered.
My prayer is all us can succeed and have peace of mind.

I had to do my biometrics due to an error of my date of birth and misspelled name.
I had to wait for a month after interview to receive a decision
I did an expedited request for my case on 07/25/23 and expedited request was approved on 08/03/2023 and 08/08/2023 my case was approved.
They also approved my I-824 (FTJ) request. Waiting to see how this turns out.

This is great news. Congratulations and thanks for the update. Did you have any other status outside of your asylum pending one? And was the asylum case discussed during your interview?

Do keep us updated on the FTJ progress/outcome.

There are two of your from the same FO, filed within 3 days of one another, you've both completed your bio and are both waiting for your IL/next update at this point. The response you received from USCIS while related to your case, is not specific to your case alone.

Since your case was only filed about a month ago, I doubt if your congressional office agency liaison person will be too enthusiastic to initiate a follow up on your behalf at this point. But I don't want to discourage you from initiating the congressional case assistance at this point if you feel inclined to do so, miracles do happen.
How long do you recommend to wait before doing the congressional inquiry?

I cannot be specific as to "how long" because I do not want to create an impression for folks in terms of what a standard wait period should be. Again, you can see other folks who filed long before you did from the same FO as you who are equally still waiting, and they've equally initiated congressional inquiries at one point or the other which I think you should be able to find on this thread if you search for them.

Hello mum,
Today I got an email from FO that my expedite request was denied and next week I will get an answer for my congressional inquiry ( 30 days ends in 08/16).
1. What is my next option if I don't get a favorable answer from my congressman?

You keep waiting while keeping your fingers crossed and hoping to get a positive response soon after.

Thank You soo much.
I only had my asylum pending status only
The interview lasted 5-10minutes. I was asked only the I-485 questions. The Asylum case was NOT discussed
IO emphasized that my FTJ would take place once am approved. I will make an aggressive follow up with the consulate from next week.

You were quite fortunate considering some of the other folks with asylum pending status already got denied.

I thank God plus The awesome effort and detailed information you have channeled to this forum.
I have a friend of DV2022 who were approved with the family and were on asylum pending
I met another friend who is a DV2023 was approved in June 2023 , he used an attorney because of asylum pending

Congratulations on your new status. I tried to lookup your name on timeline spreadsheet to check the timeline but couldn’t find. It would help us if you could update.

Hi Mom, i received a white slip after my interview. My officer has marked first 2 boxes and verbally said everything looks good after the interview. She also said “if she needs anything else she will mail us but so far everything looks good”. My status hasn’t been changed yet. It still shows “fingerprint has been taken” on case status online. I don’t know if this is a good sign or bad.

Hi Mom and Reeta,

I had my interview in SF today as well. Officer gave me this letter as well at the end of the interview. I had the first box marked. She said they'll send me a letter in the mail if they need anything from me. My case status hasn't updated online either.

The interviewing officer was also telling me that I didn't file my case properly. She had no idea about the early filing policy. Hopefully, this won't be an issue in my case. I guess we just have to wait.

Yeah. Interview was very simple. No questions about asylum. She only asked questions related to i485.
