GC for aunts, is it possible?

Me and my husband are USC.
I was raised by both of my aunts because my parents wasn't in the condition of taking care of me when I was born.
Right now, I am living in US and hoping my aunts will be able to come joint the family with me and my husband.

Would that be possible?
How long is the wait might be?
Would they be able to come to US first while they are waiting for the approval of GC?

I once heard it might be easier for them to use visitor visa and travel to Canada or Mexico every 6 months. But I afraid after a while, the immigration will stop letting them in, would that happened?

You need to apply your parents first. Once your parents become US citizen, they can sponsor for your aunts. It will take 3 years for you to be USC, 5+ years for your parents to be USC and then 10 - 20 years for the PD of your aunts to be current.

why can't they visit her, if not live permanantly? they can simply visit from time to time and then leave the country. I don't understand. How can you say such things categorically. With no offence I want to ask you some thing. Are paid for this or you are one of us.

you didn't read what OP said. OP said using visitor visa to come to the US, and then go out to Canada/Mexico every 6 months.. Do you think it works ?

They can certainly visit, and one of the criteria for visiting is a foreign residence that they have no intention of abandoning, and closes ties to their home country.

Because he knows the law. Your plan is little more than a good way for your aunts to be turned away at the border, and perhaps placed in expedited removal.

My parents(from Canada) have been coming here to Florida on vacation since the 1970's. They come for 6 months at a time, and they have a house here. Canadians don't need a visa to enter, they are allowed to stay for 6 months at a time. Of course they can visit anytime, don't let people on this board tell you otherwise....

Well, going out of the US every 6 month seems to mean they come back to the US soon after that. That is why OP is saying " But I afraid after a while, the immigration will stop letting them in". That is no longer considered visitors.
 
I think the better answer could have been, they can visit for 6 months as was asked, but rather than going to canada or mexico they can go back home for a while and then come back for another visit. complication might arise due to frequent visits, but that doesn't always happen. lot of ppl vist to see their children/family regularly and they have been doing this for a very long time. I mean you cann't give a categorical Yes/No answer, it's like discouraging some one esp when there is a way in between.

With all due respect, I can't interpret the OP's first post in this thread to mean that she wants her aunts to "visit" for 6 months at a time, but she intends for them to live here. She clearly asked about permanent residency for them, expressed desire for them to join the family, and considered for them to "travel" to Canada/Mexico every 6 months where travel I think implies that they would not stay long before coming back. But, cindywang16 please correct me if I misinterpreted your post.

I agree with you that we should explain the option of occasional visits for her aunts to her. However, it's not what she asked. Had she asked, "can they visit? how long can they stay?" etc. I'm sure she would have gotten a different answer.

I am wondering if there is alternative.

One of the alternative, I was suggested once is have them come visit and leave the country (Mexico/Canada) every 6 months and come right back. Now, obviously, it will not be a long term thing.

It is a sad thing to find out either GC or tourist visa will let my aunts to joint the family for a long term.
They will be the only grandmas my children will ever have. It is really unfortunate.

They could apply for a GC on their own merits, I suppose.

If they can't apply for GC from me, I was suggested once, have them come visit and leave the country (Mexico/Canada) every 6 months and come right back.

I'd be really curious as to what they'd tell the POE officer when they tried such a thing. What do they plan to do if denied re-entry?

They are old aged, not planning to travel anymore.
And they are coming to be with us, not planning to work anymore.
What if they come and overstay?
What kind of legal consequences we might have to face?

As long you support them, they don't work, they don't need a driver license, and most important, don't need health insurance, or bank accounts, don't travel, they should be ok then. They could get deported only if someone tells on them, but unlikely.....I think ICE has bigger issues on their agenda then old ladies

that will be the first step in a chain of mistakes. First of all that is illegal, and being old age you will have to take care all of the medical bills and expenses, it will be very hard to find any insurance that will take them. Also your US citizenship will be endangered (if you were naturalized?) since you are actively involved in immigration fraud.

If you need them to be with you so bad, then YOU move to their country. Nothing prevents you from that.
 
If one of the aunts had legally adopted the OP before her 16th birthday, would it be correct that she could have petitioned for her in that case? (Could such a close relative as an aunt even adopt her?) This would still leave out the other aunt though, who would have to be petitioned by the adoptive aunt and take another 15 or so years. Maybe if the two aunts had a civil union and both adopted the child (?). Anyway, I'm assuming it's too late for any of that.
