Waiting Asylum decision

Hello everyone.
My friend is here alone and he has children back home who are above 25. The asylum application says to provide details of all children regardless of age and the instructions for asylum says only to include unmarried children under 21.
Confused on how to fill up. Does he need to include his children who are both above 25 or does he skips that part in the application. Pls help out with this. Thanks a lot.

I had interview end of August 2025 in Tustin ( Los Angeles ) office, and decision is pending ever since.. I was supposed to pick it up in two weeks, but they called and said it would be mailed..
Anybody else waiting for their decision from Tustin?
And those who already have their results from Tustin office - how long have you waited for it?

They are so slow. I didn’t see any recent LA case posts online that got a decision quickly, except for one that got its decision within 1 week after the interview. I have been waiting since August myself.

hello
had my interview in arlington office 2 weeks ago and AO asked to send some paper in person at the office
Decision Is still Pending

Anyone waiting for a decision from the Boston asylum office? Our interview was October 2nd, 2025. A week after the interview the AO requested my original birth certificate with my valid and expired passports. I am not the main appliquant my husband is. Anybody has experience with this office?

Hi everyone,

I really need some clarity about something that’s been stressing me out. I filed for asylum in 2020 while I still had valid status (I was on OPT at the time). I’ve been waiting over 5 years for an interview, and suddenly, instead of an interview notice, I received a Notice to Appear (NTA) for immigration court.

I’m confused because my asylum application was timely and I had legal status when I filed. USCIS has my updated address (I confirmed this recently), and I never received any missed-interview notice. The NTA says I’m “out of status,” but that confuses me because I filed while I was still in status and have been following the asylum process the whole time.

Has anyone been in a similar situation where:
  1. You filed asylum while in status
  2. You waited years for an interview
  3. And then suddenly your case was referred to court without any interview?
Any insights or similar experiences would really help me understand what happened and what to expect next. Thank you.

When government acts, they don't just pencil whip, they have something solid

Speak to a lawyer , waste no further moment

At this point, there is no reason to fight back with USCIS since they have thrown your case to immigration court already. You can't have them take it back (Doesn't matter right or wrong)

There is another person with similar case to yours, he applied in 2022 but then i guessed he probably could swiped because he came during biden administration and trump has serious beef with asylees / refugees who came during biden time , but looks likes its something else since you came here in 2020 (I also applied in 2020 and got approved in 2025 after filing mandamus

Long story short, speak to a lawyer immediately

It was my post in a different topic. I've consulted with 3 attorneys already. Until this week, they didn't have such cases. Everybody said that I (I think and you also) have to go to court. In theory, of course, you can try "a motion to terminate", but no one proposed this option to me.

I just saw a video posted by " Chris The Lawyer " on TikTok , He confirmed this has started happening ... USCIS is playing tricks now to offload as much as they can on immigration courts , he mentioned his clients were legit and suddenly got a letter " you missed your interview" or "we sent you letter for interview" etc ..... and now you are referred to court
Or there are clients who actually were at interview and they were told , decision will be mailed and suddenly got a letter that you never showed up to interview so referred to court
He suggested to keep up to your strong follow up and up to date documentation
But for sure once they refer you to court, there is no coming back to USCIS

but you are all right, as confirmed by this lawyer on TikTok

My lawyer doesn't know the reason. It might be 1 year bar which wasn't the case but since the administration has changed, this probably came up recently. I came to the US with F1 visa and worked here for years. I don't know what to say....
