Waiting Asylum decision

My lawyer doesn't know the reason. It might be 1 year bar which wasn't the case but since the administration has changed, this probably came up recently. I came to the US with F1 visa and worked here for years. I don't know what to say....
Can you share which Asylum office?

It was my post in a different topic. I've consulted with 3 attorneys already. Until this week, they didn't have such cases. Everybody said that I (I think and you also) have to go to court. In theory, of course, you can try "a motion to terminate", but no one proposed this option to me.
Which Asylum office?

Mine says decision is pending. I have been waiting for that since April, almost 6 months. Is it a long wait a good sign or it doesn’t matter? I know a couple cases from these past months that received their referrals to court very quickly.
Hello! any
Updates?

Chicago, November 2024. Still application is pending
Thanks for your message
Waiting since November 2024 is really too long.
Did you try anything to request adjudication from USCIS?
I’m just asking to know if you tried any steps so I can understand your experience.

1 mail to USCIS in June 25 - no answer
1 email to USCIS in November - answer: Decision is pending.
Representative - no response.
Want to try ombudsmen, but a little later, because I already sent one request for my EAD renewal - applied 15 month ago and still no decision.

the part with EAD renewal is aseptically frustrating

Interesting! It looks like an internal directive prevents officers from granting asylum or adjusting status for nationals of travel ban countries, which currently number up to 36 (it's said the list will increase to 60 countries). If an officer wants to grant asylum or a green card(it's said doesn't apply to those we were granted Asylum already but who knows), she needs to get permission from HQ, which could take an unknown amount of time, and why would an officer even bother? So, essentially, one-third of all countries could be affected, but we will never know. Honestly, this is sad for all those who have been waiting for so long.

All this time, they had never interfered with asylum applicants or asylees, because none of us had ever committed any major violations. But now, because of what happened with that person from Afghanistan, they are pausing all asylum decisions. I imagine that the approvals they were giving will also be put on hold, and now it feels like we are becoming a new target.

I was picking up the decision in Tustin, CA today. After 2.5 hours they told me the decision is not ready yet and will be sent via mail. They told the same to all other applicants in the office (around 50 people and 20-30 cases).

yeah, this is tough. The pressure on the asylum process has been increasing, and each day, i read more bad news. it's systemic dismantling of all avenues of relief. The problem is that, even if one holds on for the next three years, hoping for a change in administration...the next administration always strugles, or are always reluctant, to undo these policies. It's never easy to go back to the way things were. wishing the best for everyone waiting.
