Decision was mailedHello, I came here legally, and switched to F1, studied here and graduated. Applied for asylum, did the interview . I have an SSN since I came here and I have a work permit . Did my interview and it went very well . The officer was great and said good luck all what he asked is to send him my i20s and I did .
Friday I got on case status decision was mailed . Before it was pending .
Interview was Feb 22 -2024
December 6 -2024 decision mailed
9 months and something ...
Is that good or bad ?
Google post lots of different things
I wanted to be sure from peoples that experienced that on here.
Anyone had the same case like me ? I am nervous wreck.

Congratulations on getting a decision, you should receive it within few days and know for sure.
Meanwhile, you can check EOIR website. If you were denied, typically you can see your case referred to court there.

Can you please share your timeline from Case Tracker? Do you still have “Decision was mailed”? Or there are “fees were waived” “case was updated to fingerprints were taken” “new card is being produced”?I put my A number in the automated case information EIOR

A number in EOIR system will not help you because update there is slow

A lot of asylee get decision was mailed and nothing else to it . Maybe each case is different I do not know .

This is because your immigration category changes.
I believe this is the reason why we see "fees are waived" in the case tracker.

If you get approval then you are right and fees were waived is not for everyone who approved.
If you get NOID or referral then this rule is for everybody who approved

Can you please send me examples of situations when “decision was mailed” without changing for several days led to approval? I don’t remember these cases and I read this forum from the beginning. That’s why I think that “decision was mailed” for several days is 100% Referral or NOIDFees are waived is 100% you asylum is granted, they approved a new EAD with a different category

Please note that 90% of people here had 1st EAD, even 2 or more EAD when saw “Fees were waived” because waiting time is very long. C08 EAD has nothing with A05 EAD, so every asylee gets A05 with waived fee FIRST time. The only thing you can hope is glitch or problem with website/case tracker where status wasn’t updated to fees were waived due to technical issues

Getting your “fees were waived” status has nothing to do with financially struggling to pay for the fee, and it rather means you’re getting your FIRST free of charge A5 (Asylee) status work permit, most of us have had more than one C8 work permit before getting our A5 ones, when the asylum office grants asylum, they always issue a new EAD card with the new category, hence the status change in the case tracker app. If you in fact got an approval without getting your “fees waived” status please share it here so we know that’s also a possibility.
