latest statistics for 10/23/03 cases

# Cases: 196
Lots of activity as far as updating cases to "FP recvd" goes (43 cases) but no approvals since the last update. Of the 196 cases, 51.53% have now had their status / LUD chance since Received (but most of these are "FP recvd").
Interestingly, the number of transferred cases *dropped* by 1...

I don't think you would have too much trouble finding exceptions to that theory. This has happened to *some* people (especially those with NDs within a certain range who had done FP2) but there are many people who did FP a long time ago who haven't been approved yet.
The most encouraging theory / rumor that I've heard is that the location that is processing cases with NDs in Apr - Oct 2003 wants to complete those by March 2003. So with my ND of 10/23/03, I'm hoping my case will be processed within 5 or so months max, but you just never know with the VSC...

Yes, this has happened to some people. There is some speculation that these kinds of changes to the LUD may indicate that your case could be approved soon although I'm pretty sure that this is not always the case. With your RD, it's possible that you could be approved soon...

Probably an error.
Note that some people have gone ahead and done unnecessary FPs anyway and apparently in some cases this has triggered an approval. In other cases it had no effect or the ASC sent them away without doing FP once they realized the mistake.
If you can afford the time, it might be worth seeing if they'll do your FP (don't mention that you just did it) on the off chance that it could trigger an approval...

partial update 11_10_2004
I scanned only May-Aug 2003 range, because it has the highest activity and of course my case is in this range ... it looks like the edge of the "big wave" is at the end of June so July fillers prepare for "surfing" (approvals) of "drowning" (transfers, RFE etc) ... hope for the first.

I'll try to do it whenever I'll have time to scan ... these weeks were very hectic and it looks like the situation will be the same until TG, after that I'll resume the normal scanning ...
For those who didn't notice, the last scan has always the red color, the prevoius one is black so red-black space is always the difference between actual scan and the previous one

Have you stayed away from using that IP for at least 48 hours (maybe 72)? I've found that once you get locked out it can take a while to unlock, especially if you keep checking to see if it's locked -- this might cause the "timer" to be reset. Also, if you are at work, it could be that your company's entire submask of IP's is locked out and is staying locked out because others keep trying to scan using that IP.
A possible workaround: I don't know how to do this off-hand but in some cases it may be possible to force your IP to change (with dialup this generally happens every time you reconnect but with DSL / Cable, I think you can possibly use something like "ipconfig /release" / "ipconfig / renew" to do this). Alternatively, there may be some services which provide "proxy" IP addresses...
On the other hand, maybe nemessis has hijacked your IP for his scans

I was too impatient to hold off on scanning these even though I just did it on Monday...
Not a lot of activity but there were 2 approvals and 1 transfer, so things might be picking up. For this date, 5.61% of the cases that I'm tracking (11) are "complete" (approved / transferred / denied). Roughly 6 weeks ago, only 2.55% (5) were "complete".

Identifying the cases in that range would probably take longer than it will take to get approved. That's around 22 working days and to get all the cases for a day using a single IP took me around 3 weeks (the USCIS site limits you to scanning 200 cases per day from a range of about 5000 cases x 22 days -- do the math). To do this in a reasonable amount you would need access to multiple IPs.
Best to just extrapolate from the data that we do have for August (at least 4 days separated by 1 week I think).
