VA is processing Feb 4th RIR cases - per rep in VA labour dept

Hi guys

Called VA Dept of labour office (Phone no 703-813-1333) and the rep told me that they are processing Feb 4th 2002 RIR cases as of now. Majority of the resources in the office are being used to help processing the April 2001 cases which need lot of work like advertising and so on. Very few people are working on RIR and non-RIR cases. His estimate was, for a month of processing, the staff will take 2 months time. So, people who filed case in March 2002 can expect their cases be cleared in another two months time.

Let us hope they process it faster :)

update on status

Knowing that they started processing my application 6 days ago, and having not heard anything yet I finally gave in and called VEC. Apparently they are waiting for a response to some 'deficiency' they found in the application. I emailed my lawyer to find out the details and haven't heard yet.

Pending LC

I called up VEC to find the status of my case. According to her, my case is still not processed.The PD being 01/28/02, I am worried why it is still pending when they are workiing on Feb.4 cases. She did not give any reason or explanation. In that case do you think I should take up the matter through my attorney or wait for some more time as other members are waiting. It is very frustrating when you come close & face uncertainty. I will appreciate if some one will guide me to relieve my tension.

Not all cases are processed in the order they were recieved. They just got to mine last week, and it was 1/4/02. Hang in there and they will get to it fairly soon.

Does anyone know when they will complete the great April2001 Non-RIR cases, it seems like these applications are still slowing the process. Who ever calls next time please take the trouble of asking this question.

Atleast from the completion of April 2001 cases we can expect the process to speed up little bit.

RFE for a Resume!

I guess the request for additional information was simply to request a copy of my resume. (Which my lawyer already had, but wasn't included in the package they submitted for some reason.)

My emplyer not yet responded for my RFE on wages. They are saying my title is now changed and the internal lawyer alerted the HR that if they advertise the old position for which they filed my permanent labor approval, I am not in that position any more.
If they advertise for the new position, everything will be changed..
Infact, I have no idea why they changed my title while getting only annual reviews and doing the same job.
Anybody knows what can be done in this case.

Title change......

I faced similar situation when I was "promoted" to different title (Sr. ). I alerted HR to ask lawyer to know if this changes anything.The response was that your job functionality has to be "Significantly Similar" to the post you have advertised for. Hopefully you have it same and everything goes smoothly.

Also If it is "routine promotion" It doesn't affect your case. So you can try to make your case as "routine promotion".
titles don't matter is functionality remains same. This is what I understood from lawyer.

UPDATE

Just found out that my case has been moved to Philly DOL yest.
Looks like some will have to take over the responsibilty of calling VEC.
 
Any volunteers to call VEC??

Congrats Slow_lc. Good luck with your Philly DOL.

Any volunteers to call VEC on a regular basis - Wed & Fri works fine. I think since we minimized the calls to VEC the processing seems to have gotten better. So, let's keep the trend and call only twice per week and one of us can do that. Please let this group know if any one is interested.

I also asked about my case in particular and they told me that my case was entered in the system on 13th Feb so they will process accordingly. I will keep you guys posted.

Thanks for volunteering for now, I will take over once your case is moved to Philly or I don't know if someone else wants to step up to the plate, he/she is more than welcome.
 
Status for today

I called SESA today and the Lady I talked to told me that she was processing Jan 29th 2003. Last time i had talked to Richard and he was processing Feb 8th at the time. So if someone would like to call them up again on Monday and check that would be good.

Also I will not be able to check the status next week as I am out of town so if someone else can call SESA that will be great.
