is there any place where one can get real statistics and processing times, pending cases, oldest case and things like that?
my PD is June 2002, I485 RD is October 2006 and I am in the process of changing employer and might end up paying my attorney another 5k to transfter my H1B to the new empolyer and might wake up the next morning to find my 485 approved.
am thinking in investing these 5k in a WoM instead
I am debating whether to use EAD or pay the 5k and take some risks.
when I contacted my attorney she advised we file for a new 3 yrs visa extension (because I 140 is alread approved). She also mentioned I can use EAD to work however, consider the following:
...
Lot of people get 1 LUD after FP. FBI sends back fingerprinting clearance within 24hours. USCIS sometimes updates it , sometimes not. In my case no LUD since FP for last 10 monhts. All my friends cases have 1 LUD after FP. Looks like he didnt get any LUD for NC. That doesn't indicate clearly NC is done or not.
Keep up the hope that NC is cleared.

Your attorney is right. Renewing H1B is always a good idea.

one of my friends got a reply from sen aide's office that said the uscis has told them:
“THESE CASES ARE AWAITING A VISA TO BECOME AVAILABLE. UPON A VISA BECOMING AVAILABLE, YOUR CONSTITUENT WILL BE NOTIFIED AT THE FOLLOWING ADDRESS; XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
THANK YOU.”
does that mean his namecheck has been cleared?
Keep up the hope that NC is cleared.
My congressperson's aide who has been very kind and helpful said that TSC responded to her telling her that my case is with an examiner for review. I don't want to get too optimistic, but could this mean that my security check is clear?
Having experienced a bunch of crap, inconsistency and contradiction on their part, I would try to keep my expectation low (I wouldn't want to be disappointed later)... that said, though, reading people's posts in the past, I believe they would have said "the processing delays due to security check, we can't process until it's cleared" if it is still pending, wouldn't they?
I'd want to have NC clearance confirmed...
I agree renewing is a very good idea. But I'm not sure transferring that H1 to a new job is a good idea.It is most definitely a good idea
I agree with you, after several disappointments, I'm not going to be too optimistic about this. I'm just hoping that my recent I-140 approval triggered some form of processing on my I-485, even if it means someone taking a glance at my file and then keeping it aside. I'm going to schedule an Infopass appointment in the next couple of weeks to see what's up with my name check or security check or whatever check they have me under.

My family spent more than 60 days outside US and entered on AP. There were no issues on entering US
Though I went through some grilling when entering US after 21 days. All my job history dating back to past 8-9 years was asked. I don't think it had any relationship to security or verification as Immigration personal was new and didn't know what to do for people entering as Parolees and used up time waiting for someone else.
Thanks for the info.
What did they specifically ask about past employment history ?
Start date - end date, job title, salary etc. ?
