RFE received by USCIS

USCIS informated me that they have received my response for the RFE On December 15, 2006. In their online message, it is said "You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed,etc..."
Does this mean the background check is finished? I would appreciate if anybody can shed some insight on this.

Hi

I have got the same message and about a month has passed since they got it, I got two updates after the date they received it but no more. I don't think that means background check is finished although it does not make sense to me that they send an RFE before those are finished.

What was your RFE about if you don't mind me to ask?
 
Medical RFE

The RFE asked me to complete the medical information since I was pregnant at time submitting I-485 and did not get all the shots that were required. We did submit a sealed envelope with Doctor signature asking for blanket waiver due to my situation. Apparently USCIS wanted everything.

So, you got the shots and submitted the report now?
 
Wife's 485 not approved.

Folks
I am in a situation where USCIS approved my 485 in the first week of november. However they didnt approve my wife's 485 yet. Was worried about this..anyone in a similar situation....

THe black immigration officer didn't want release any useful information to me. He just told me that CIS can't make final decision untill the secruity check is complete. He also told me that I knew the answer before the case query. He can't help me on this.

Have you ever called TSC asking your status because your case also more than 30 days after your PD? Did you do anything except this REF?
 
485 processing

Not seen any approvals for India-EB2 for long even though processing dates has passed for many applications ...

Looks like there is some problem in processing at Texas center...not sure what is causing this delay but below are some best possible issues..

Processing time has increased due to application volumes or

due to delays in security check or

normal procedural delays due to extra H1B processing transferred from Vermont


140 premium processing and staff shortage

Holidays

No visas available ( This one doesnot sound true)


Can't do anything except to wait and try probabalities...Our journey may not end soon !!

Called and also contacted Senator

Both my husband and I called TSC serval times even though our RD is still within their offical processing time. We even contacted the Senator. All came back as name check pending. Right after Senator's inquiry on behalf of us, USCIS sent the RFE, and we do not know if there is any connection. We plan to ask his help again in January if nothing further happen by then.

USCIS received my RFE response in September. I have the same message as well. Receiving an RFE doesn't mean that your security checks are completed and they don't always respond within the 60 day period.
 
The people I know by now with PD in May, EB2 and LC filed 2003 or before and from regressive contries are:

2getgc, onepenny, longlosthopein and Neargc. All of us have a very close RD of I485. Andbody else?

TSC official processing time update

As of today, June 15, 2006 for employment based I485 processing. Any one, particularly Chinese and Indian, with Receive Date prior to 6/15, has not received a decision yet (provided visa available)?

my friend, these uscis dates are honestly useless becasuse most of the people here are stuck with the namechecks which means that those dates of june 15 are not applicable on those people. so don;t be bluffed by those dates honestly.

I am in the same situation, my I-485 was approved in less than 1 month, but they haven't approved my wife's I-485. My lawyer called and they refused to take any action because they are not processing October-2006 yet.

Contacted Congressperson on 10/30/06
Contacted Senator on 12/6/06
Attorney contacted TSC by mail on 12/6/06
Wrote an official complaint to the director of TSC on 12/5/06(RD)

Now we have to wait 5 years to go through the same nightmare again for citizenship. I cannot wait!

Based on the tracker, more than 80% of 2006 cases for chinese and indian applicants with RD before 06/01/2006 were still pending.
