TSC Consolidated 485 Tracker

She called back after I left her a voice mail asking her to call me not my spouse.
Well, she was avoiding to answer my questions. Anyway, I told her that we are on working visa and can't do any business. She said she understood. I think that's the end of the story.
Thanks for your comment. I think I might be worried too much as zzzz4zzzz said.

Hi CAPD02 ,

Do they start security check as soon as the application is received ?
Or do they wait till their processing date reaches the application date ?

Hi Prince123,

Security check process will be originated within 2-3 weeks of your RD. It's nothing to do with their processing dates and whether PD is current or not. That's a reason, you are getting FP done without influence of processing dates and PD factors.

Here is the thing:

As soon as your file your I-485, after 2-3 weeks, USCIS people will push your case to two different tunnels. One is FP Check tunnel and other one is Name check tunnel.

FP check tunnel is the glass tunnel, but it's not a clean glass. I mean still you can sense about your case movement from out side. (I mean by seeing immediate LUD after your FP, you can atleast predict whether it went through or not.)

Where as Name check tunnel is a black and dark tunnel. It's not visible to you and no status of movement within that tunnel any time (I mean, there is no LUDs for this) So, we have to wait just out side of this tunnel to arrival of your case. We never know how soon it will come, as per FBI it will be in 72 hours. But we don't know, what's happening inside and when it will reach out side of the tunnel. Your approval time line mainly influence how soon it arrived from tunnel.

Hey folks! I am not saying anything different... I feel all we are going through this exercise...painful....

But keep in mind of formula I mentioned.

Approval Time Line = (PD is current + RD within Processing Dates + Name check clearance + FP clearance + Processing officer's efficiency + Your luck)

Also take note of PBLC_01302006 and andy garcia's comments on these formulas. That's very true.

If any of one factor is 0 then approval timeline will be keep on multplying by months...later by years.

Thanks

CAPD02 - Thanks for reply.

I was wondering why they need to have dark tunnels.
In the status website if they give like,

"Sent for FP on --/--/---- . Finger print cleared on --/--/----"
"Sent for NC on --/--/--- . namecheck cleared on --/--/----"
"Pre-approved on --/--/-- , waiting for PD to become current to issue approval"

etc.

Will sky fall down ?!

DEPENDENT I-485 PENDING - Has anyone experienced this?

Hi,

My wife's (primary) I-485 has recently been approved (see signature). However, mine (spouse) has not had any LUD since 9/17/06 (mass LUD).

Has anyone experienced this? I noticed everyone pretty much got their 485 at the same time. Please advise if you have any idea as to how long it'll take before mine will get approved based on your experience.

thanks a million!

My question is (it might be a stupid one), when FBI calls for checking on you did they declare themself openly? Have anyone experience it?

FBI may do whatever they want to. However, I have some experience talking to them directly. They actually conduct random interviews with people applying for visas, GC's etc. And I was one of them they picked (at least they told me so). They called me at home phone#, introduced themselves, asked if I'm available to come over to their local office. I said "sorry, no, I'm busy during the day at work". Then we agreed to meet for an interview in a restaurant. :) They indeed asked routine questions like "why you travel so often to your home country", "what are you doing at your job", "were you contacted by special agencies of any other countriy at any time". And then they told me that I'm free to share details of the interview with anybody. Actually I liked chatting with them. They seemed to be nice people. :)
Now I'm afraid that since they conducted that interview I definitely have a profile in their DB and it might be a cause for delay with AOS process. :(

Sorry I don't know for sure. It's purely my speculation. I hope it would be the same case for you as well.

alex904,
Thanks for sharing your interesting experiences with FBI. Oddly since my case has recently been approved, I am not sure if there's anything to do with that stange phone call. Anyway I would dismiss it since the time frame was too short.

Talking to FBI...

Alex904,
No wonder the people you've talked to were nice - that's part of their job description ;)
I just wonder whether you've tried to contact them and ask if they can now expedite your namecheck. This actually may work...

I am in the same situation, primary applicant got approved, but wife and kids still waiting. Maybe they just focuses on getting as many primary applicants approved as possible before October 1st, then they will go back to the direvative applicants after that. I've read someplace else that this is not unusual, and that approvals may be as much as 2 months in between.

Spouse 485 Pending

Same here ...I got the approval email last week for 485. But we waiting for the approval emails for my wife case.

No Sign of FP Notification

Hi Folks

I've been impressed with how quickly USCIS has processed my documents (see my signature) but do any of you have any idea why there's such a delay in receiving the FP Notification? I note that most of you got the FP Notification shortly after filing.

I'm from a non-retrogressed country and my priority date in April 2004. My case is very straightforward - no spouse etc. involved and no other complications.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks, TempusFugit.
