Trip to Canada

Anyway, when I went to Canada by road, they asked for a passport both ways (I had an RTD).

WHEN did you go to Canada?

I went to Canada through NY on Dec. 30. 2008 and come back on Jan. 2, 2009.

They only asked me for GC both ways. I did not even have my NP with me.

I am going back in 2 weeks. Do I need to take my NP this time?

You do not need to. If you have a RTD or a RP I would bring it along. Otherwise you do not need it. Just print a copy of the government website saying that it is not needed.

Tirp to Vancouver/British Columbia

Hi All.

I am GC holder through asylum and went to Canada on April 11 th,2009 with my daughter who is GC holder as an deriative asylee.We were asked standart question at the border of Canada and they let us in after couple minutes with checking our car.

On the way back US immigration officer has asked two question which are;

a-where do we live
b-what we did in Canada and she gave our GC back to us said we are free to go.

I would like to share our experience regarding crossing the border.By the way we didn't have anythingelse other than GC.

Best Regards.
