Transit visit

Hi:

I was just advised not to visit Singapore, during transit, on my way to India from the US. I have a US green card. I was told that it could create problems at the US port of entry when returning. This is because I would be visiting a third country, Singapore, that is not my home country during a trip.

Is this correct? I was really looking forward to making a short visit to Singapore. A bit bummed!

Thanks.

Where did you learn this nugget of nonsense?

From someone who seems to know what he's talking about. I am just checking. I was surprised by the information as well.

This someone Malaysian by any chance? Someone still bitter about the fact that Singapore decided to break the short lived federation between the two? :)

Haha. To be precise, TC, Singapore was ejected from the union between Malaya and Singapore, the only time something like this has occurred if I'm not mistaken.

What about Hong Kong? I've got a transit for 2 hours in Hong Kong..do you all think I'll need a visa? I have a GC and a RTD.
