Tracker: Waiting for Derivative's I-485 Approval

Yes, it happened to me about two weeks before my approval. Same thing happened to my wife's case on 08/30.

It probably just indicates that someone touched the case - it is just a variant of the original transfer message.

Hi,
Yesterday I noticed that my derivates message changed which I never noticed. Please see the message below. Did it happen to any one else!
Is there any indication of this! Message use to be like 'this case is transferred to TEXAX Service Centre'.

Hi all,

is the following message a routine one?

case is at mesquit, Texas.

Geofu,
I tried this and I am getting message that case is at mesquit, Texas and not at Texas Service Centre.
Any thoughts please. I am trying to my best avoid any delays due to whatever is the reason. I have not called uscis so far.

Anya,

Try the following to call them.

Call 1-800-375-5283
Then choose 1-2-2-6-1
Enter your receipt no
Then 1
Listen to auto message and the like.
Then press 3
Then press 4.
You will hear something to the effect “Welcome to TSC” or "Texas Service Center." By this you can confirm that you are now connected to TSC. You will most likely hear a stupid waiting music hereafter. Be patient till you get hold of an IO.

During the process, they do say it must be an applicant him/herself, or his/her representative or guardian. You can still call as long as your husband is present there.

You may get a useless bitch/@sshole if you are unlucky, but don't get upset... hang up and try sometime later.

Got CRIS email on July 30, 2007 on my wife's case and got the approval on Aug. 28, 2007.

So you must be very close to approval.

Did it take a month after the message change!

Madgu,
But I did not get any email for the following message change. I surfed the message when I was casually checking the message from my profile. That means it took almost a month after the message changed to
The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now pending standard processing at a USCIS office.
.

It seems you have made few calls to uscis. Without that it would have taken some time for your approvals. Right!

Don't count on that message, it happens to us right after transfer in march.

I did not bother to call TSC for my wife's case and I know that whatever answer you get from them may not be 100% correct. At one point i was asked to contact NSC for the case status. It is weird. So I stopped bothering. All of a sudden the approval came in.

Different message after the transfer

Don't count on that message, it happens to us right after transfer in march.

Thanks Madgu and StillAlive,
StillAlive,
This is not the exact message which I use to have after the transfer of all our cases. There use to be a complete message (different from the current one) like here
The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS that was transferred to our TEXAS SERVICE CENTER location is now pending there.

This was the message which I use to have after the transfer.
Now the message has changed without LUD change for this purpose.

Infopass appointment

My husband had his infopass today morning. The officer told him that they dont have any info after march, when the case was transferred to TSC. She said that for any thing after that we should call and ask TSC. When we asked about name check, she said that the security clearance was initiated in Nov 2004 and was pending with the FBI till case transfer to TSC. However, an officer at VSC had told us earlier this year that all our checks were complete.

So..any thoughts?

Umm... and TSC guys said the other day they didn't see anything on the screen, right? Damn, I hate it being in the dark like that. For now try calling TSC again... different officers may well say different things.

Right.. the TSC lady didnt see anything abnormal and started a SR. Should we call them again and refer to the SR, or just for info abt security clearance?

Our senator office had written to the FBI asking for security/name chek clearance sometime in Jan., but they never heard anything back. Think its worth asking them to follow up now?? Is there a way to get a letter from USCIS saying that this is a security clearance issue?

Security checks pending for my wife as well. But at least this status is consistent across TSC rep, SR response & congressman's office. I guess it is pretty much a wait and watch now. Namecheck pending for more than 30 months is ridiculous. Some members have theirs pending for even longer. People have contacted FL, obudsman etc. But I don't think any of the cases were expedited due to such requests. If otherwise, please let us know.

I wonder what they mean by "don't have any info after March (which means the transfer I would guess)." Does that mean there has actually been no update or processing activity, or information is totally missing? I just don't understand what they mean. It seems that VSC-TSC transfer people are calling TSC or doing infopass and getting some update (no matter how it may be useful/less)... why the same is not the case with your husband's?

Anyway, I would definitely ask the senator to follow up... simply, it is too long a wait already. In my last post I forgot you had initiated a SR, but yeah, they may say you had just initiated a SR so don't call 6 months or something like that if you call again. If you try your luck, better explain to them what infopass said (i.e., "they said we should call TSC" etc).

Also consider writing to Ombudsman. It's nothing like expediting the case, but it is at least helpful with case status check. In our case we got a response in one months and a half to two months.

I don't think so either, as such routes are nothing institutionalized when it comes to name check. That being said, I would try writing to Laura simply because it wouldn't hurt and it at least may draw their attention to the pending case.

(Ombudsman can do nothing about NC, by the way. His office is all about CIS, not FBI).

People are talking about CIS/FBI considering implementing some sorta salvation for long pending NC. I'm hoping that is true. Long pending NC is both inhumane and, for the U.S. pretty much self-defeating.

I went to Infopass last week, IO told my spouse namecheck is cleared she didnot knew why TSC holding approval, so she sent email to TSC and asked me to comeback after week. Today I got response from congressman, they say my spouse security checks are not clear. A month ago I received "Addtional Review wait for 6 months" SR response.

Does this mean stuck in name check or any internal security check. Also if spouse last name is different, does this cause delay?
