District office or Service Center

Hi All,

If I need to see which are the current processing dates - do I look in the District office dates or Service Center dates?

What is the difference between the two?

thanks

You should be looking at the Service Center (which gets updated approximately 3 weeks once) dates unless you see a change in your application status mentioning that it was transferred to a local/district office for processing.

You could setup a customer account in uscis website and get automated emails about any changes in the application statuses.

What was your RFE about?

Mine was filed March 04 and we got an RFE last month, July. (non-concurrent EB3 category) So, we are on a same track. BUT my RFE, asking 2 things, was very hard for me to get...I had to dig my paper work starting in 1988- and had to talk to the company I worked more than 10 years ago...

Good luck and wish me luck as well. Good luck to every one of us.

I140 approval for cases filed in this year

Thank you gcforall2003 for your answer.

Currently the CSC processing is for EB3 categories for March 22,2004 RD. Has anyone in this forum recieved an approval of their 140 ? Whoever filed before this date ?

thanks

interpreting processing times

my I-140/485 have been filed concurrently in Jul 04 in EB-3. Both my wife and I got our EAD and AP approved sometime in Aug and we got our fingerprinting done in Sep. I noticed that the last update date for both our 485s was changed to sometime late Oct 04. My question is
a> how do i read the current processing times update issued periodically by USCIS ? For the I-485 should i look at the processing time for CSC as a whole or should I look at the "district office level" (https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/ptimes.jsp?) which in my case I am assuming will fall in the San Jose office. The I485 processing times are different for CA (Feb 04) and for San Jose (May 04). Which is the correct place to look at for EB categories ?
b> I have heard of retrogressing I-485s esp for EB3 categories starting Jan 05. How would it impact current EB3 cases given that I485 processing times are already in Feb 04.

Any insights will be greatly appreciated

Thanks.

--good question. I guess it depends on the date (retrogression date). Depends on what Priority date of the applicant and how far the retrogression goes. If the retrogression is before one's PD, then their case (485 application) will not be adjudicated until it becomes current. But since they already have a 485 filing and is pending, they will continue to be eligible for interim benefits like EAD and AP.

Any other thoughts??

bsrk,
sorry it took long to get back to you. My RFE were EXPERIENCE(1988 to 1992) and ABILITY to PAY years 2001,2002 and 2003.

Even though the company profits were very small in 02 and 03, my I-140 was approved on Nov.8th.

Did you get an RFE ? Good luck. It's better than nothing, somebody took your papers in his hand.

JinCA,

for RFE related to expirence from 1988-92
what type ofQuery?
what kind of documents did u need to sumbit. ?
Were the expirence letters from the employer not enough?

i am worried about RFE's on work expirence in India.
