Texas Service Center H1B Extension Processing Times

Mine date of receipt is July 21 2003 for H1-B Renewal, Tomorrow it will be exactly 6 months. I wonder what Texas Service center is doing

I was told before that my receipt date was 07/17/2003, recently they check over their website and found out that it is 07/21/2003.
They refused to give me the receipt no, because they don't want us to call them.

Thanks very much sunny76g for updating this thread, as it was much needed. Could you please verify for all of us that yours was an extension case. Did U have time left before expiry ? or did yours expire already ?

eefrog....It is an extension...my current visa expired on Nov 15th. I am planning on heading to either Cuidad Juarez or Tijuana to get my Visa stamped.

I had my H1 extension filed on 6/24/03 and got the approval on Jan 14, 2004.
My attorney received the Approval Notices on Jan 20, 2004.

Good Luck for all others still awaiting.

My H1-b extension application was received at Texas center on 9/17/03.
In my receipt they mentioned that it will take from 120 to 180 days for processing.

Are these working days or calender days?
 
Hi everyone,
I just checked my case online and it says that they mailed me a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case. I beleive this is what is referred to as an RFE.
Can someone please tell me what this RFE means, and what do they typically ask for in an RFE ?
Anyone else getting an RFE on their case ?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Everyone,
Just now, I checked my status, it was mentioned Jan'20 they send notice for additional evidence or information. I too don't have any idea which kind of information they requested. I will appreciate, if someone knows which kind of additional information they may ask, it will be great help. My case is H1-B transfer and filed as extension.

eefrog & neelsan, Most probably that RFE might be for latest pay stubs to check your current status. Hope you get through. Good Luck ..

The way I understand it, H1B cap doesnt apply to extension and transfer cases. It only applies to new H1s.
I am not an attorney so I maybe wrong about that. Please consult your attorney to verify that.
Any responses on the RFE question will be much appreciated.

Please read as follows

I think H1 cap does NOT affect renewals and transfers.
It applies to new H1s only(first time applicants)
