Stuck in Name Check??? Let's track it

Still no news from me, at least.

BTW, I keep noticing this "FBI Special Team" thing. Where did you get this information? Is this real?

After being tortured for so long, very hard to believe anything that sounds good ... what a pity.

I heard that from this forum. However, I don't pay too much attention to this any more. Last time my congressman told me that FBI was focusing on clearing the name checks by the end of August. Now it is the end of October.

Who knows. If they don't welcome us to stay they could deny the case, why torture people by keeping it pending?
 
Name check initiated March 14 2003, had interview April 2005, twice finger print, three EAD card. still waiting.
 
FOPIA results

Received reply from FBI "no records" for my FOPIA request. See the signature. Still no reply from FBI on name check status.

Seems like they like my file so much that they carried it to home and kep it under their pillow for getting a sound sleep...
 
how do i know if i am stuck in name check??

after my 2nd FP in aug 2005, i have following message

On August 26, 2004, the fingerprints for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were collected and are pending review.


Does that give any indication about name check??

Does any body has this kind of message.

oh trust me, i am on the year 03 boat. if i ever get cleared, i will post ASAP to share the good news. i think FBI just wants to calm us down (not to call them or email them) and keep doing what they have always been doing! (maybe a little faster... hehehe)

I can think of:
- AILA inquiry with USCIS
- congressional inquiry with USCIS
- congressional inquiry with FBI
 
Stuck in Name check

My name check is pending from May 26, 2004.
Last week i gave my 2nd FP.

Do you think, 2nd FP also go to FBI ???????

As far as I know fingerprints also go to FBI, but different department. Usually it takes ~1-3 days to clear FPs, as for name check - sometimes > 3years.
 
After doing biometrics on Oct 13th my status changed online after a couple of days to "The results of your fingerprints were received and processing will resume etc"; however my wife's status has still not changed. Does that mean FBI has not cleared her's?

How do you know that you are stuck in the NAME CHECK?

Can anyone please tell us " How do you know that your case is stuck in the name check? " Does the on -line case status give you any kind of indication to conclude that?
I was fingerprinted in May 05 and when interviewed in June 05 the officer told me that my FBI clearance had not come through and therefore I have to wait for the approval.
Since then the online status reads as " On May xxx the results of your fingerprint review were received and processing has resumed on your case. We will mail you a notice if further action is needed or when the decision is made" Can anyone tell me what does that mean?
Does it mean that I am stuck in the NAME CHECK?
PLEASE HELP

You write an e-mail to FBI NNCP divison and ask what is your status. I think they stopped replying to such requests. So, the only way is to ask you congressman to FAX a request to Congressional Liaison Office in FBI, they would normally answer in a week with all the info. I'm not sure whether this would help to move you case.
Another way to go to a local office, talk to them nicely (don't scream and yell as everyone else) and they will tell you.
 
My I-485 RD is November 5, 2002. And I have been waiting for the name check to clear for almost 3 years. Today I called USCIS at Vermont Center, and the lady told me that finally my name check was cleared in October 19, 2005! She told me that I should receive a notification within 30 to 60 days. I hope the information she gave me is valid. Finally some light at the end of the tunnel.

First of all many many congratulation for clearing your name-check. U r the lucky man.. I wish you get your green card soon... now please tell me which number you call for USCIS, Vermont Center...
