Stuck in Name Check??? Let's track it

Me too.... :( Sent it the first time on December 2004, came back with "IPerror". The CIS sent it again on April 19, 2005. I am waiting and waiting.... I am thinking of a legal action for next month. Cannot wait for ever.

I just got email from fbi about my name check. It is a replay on my email from Feb 7, 2005. That means, those who sent emails to fbi in February should get responses soon.
 
Dima66a, Well why are they skipping some people who sent in Jan ? I sent it on Jan 14, 2005. What happened to it ?

This is sometimes ridiculous of how they can skip some people ?

What do you expect? Look at the way they do our name check, they certainly have the liberty to skip a few emails.
 
An E-mail sent to FBI on Feb 5th got the reply on August 13th
Name check initiated March 9th 2003 still pending (both applicants)

Actual date is determined when you get a response to your email from FBI. Generally name check is initiated when you file 485, within a month or 2. If you do not have a email response from FBI yet, you can use your 485 ND as NC initiated date. IMHO, NC initiated date has no relation to FP.
 
FP review recd, processing resumed means name chek over?

How does one know if it is stuck in a name check. what are the messages. if after FP your message shows the results of FP received and processing resumed would that mean that NNCP is over. Does Mr. Hardy have an email id, any response highly appreciated......

Background check

Can someone please explain the security check for 485 approval apart from Finger Prints?I was being told that my security check is the only thing thats holding up my approval. what all checks do we have?I read somewhere about FBI Name check. I also read about some Inter Border Security Check (IBIS Check) and CIA Check.
Can someone please shed light on this? Thanks.

Slt and lawsuit gurus:

I found a lawyer who charges a flat fee of $3500 up to the point of filing. Then they start to charge billing hours. My question is: If I don't want my case to go to the court, could I avoid the hourly charge?

I think you should discuss it with your lawyer

I think you can dismiss the complaint if you don't want it to go to court. According to what lawyers I asked told me, WOM rarely go to court.

Rumors around are that all EB numbers are exhausted till October (EB1, 2 and 3). You might want to investigate this issue in deep before filing a writ of mandamus. Otherwise USCIS will simply rebute your mandamus saying that "all numbers are off" and your point is moot.

FOIPA Fax number

Friends, I've not been able to locate the Fax number to fax FOIPA request letter on this forum.. Anybody happen to have it handy?

Also was there a consensus on whether or not we still address the letter to Mr. Hardy or to the new person ?
