Signature on photo rule changed from Jun 16,2008?

I would just sign the way the way the pictures were signed in front of the IO. Either in flowing handwriting or your regular everyday signature.

Thank you

You Sir, just made my day, thank you for posting this info as I was not asked to sign my photos either today (PHX) and was about to hit the panic button...

When I had my interview back in July, I was not asked to sign the photos. This struck me as odd, and I started to panic a little in the days following the interview. My wife had her interview several days after mine, and I had her ask her IO about this. He told her not to worry and that the Santa Ana DO does not ask applicants to sign photos any more. No explanation given on when they stopped, or why. True to his word, he did not make my wife sign her photos.

I post this for informational / benchmarking purposes only. Clearly, different DOs do things differently when it comes to signing the photos. I post this only in case there are others here who were not asked to sign their photos. If you are one of them, then don't panic (like I did).

Signed the full name in cursive writing yesterday @ Newark, NJ

My wife had her oath on 9/3 @ Newark, NJ and she signed the full name in cursive writing as was instructed by the IO at the window.

very interesting that my IO at San Antonio asked my to sign my photo is block letters! I asked her why is that and she said because they need to be able to read my name on the photo.

I asked this question before.

But I remembered something new that I didn't in my last question regarding the signature.

I remember "writing/printing in block capital letters my full name on the photos per IO instructions."

My signature is my full name signed in Cursive.

How do I sign my full name on my naturalization certificate.

Do I just do it as was done on photos?

I am very apprehensive about it because commonsense tells me that a full name printed in block letters can be duplicated successfully.

Why can't I sign my full name using just as I sign i.e. cursive letters.

Cursive letters can be read easily by USCIS.

Could my signature be different then the Printed Block Capital letters as was done on the photo?

What does this New Rule state in this case?

I was also asked to print my name in block letters. Seems like this is something that's being implemented by certain DOs.

At my interview, IO scuffed the side of picture with an eraser and had me sign there with full name that's legible.

Vorpal, your oath is on September 9, let us know how they asked you to sign on the naturalization certificate.
I am worried that they will ask me to sign it as I Printed it on photos in block letters.
My regular signature is my full name in cursive letters and it is extremely legible.
I am hoping that they ask me to sign in my regular signature on my certificate but then that will be different then what they asked me to do on the photos.
