Congratulations on yesterday!!!
How did your ceremony go?
Mine was very moving, felt very proud and privileged to be part of it. Shed a few tears.
Due to people arriving late, our ceremony didn't start till about 1030, then after it had finished, they made us stay in our seats until the naturalization certificates were given out. This took forever - I was still sitting in the theatre at 1215!!! Actually thought to myself, Weston08 will be lining up outside by now.
The way people were dressed was nothing short of appalling. Such a blatant lack of respect. One girl in front of me used her cell phone during the ceremony, and was conversing in Spanish to add injury to insult.
Didn't have time to register to vote (have sent by mail) or change social security as I had to be at the passport office at 1230. I'm going back to NZ for a wedding on the 30th, so fingers crossed, my passport arrives by then.
Hope you had a great time celebrating last night, my celebration has to wait till this weekend as my boyfriend had to fly back to San Francisco for work, but at least he was there to see me become a citizen.
