I called DC office today morning and the lady told that my case has been approved yesterday. Currently it is in the printing Queue. Thanks for all the information in this thread. Below is the updated list.

Hi guys,

I just spoke to a lady today from the visa office and she said that my visa has been printed and is going for quality control and would be out in the mail soon.

SL Date: Sept 6
DC Date: Sept 27
Appr Date: ????(visa printed Dec 8)

does anyone know if they are rejecting those who have prior h1 from some where other than the home country? Please help

jnathan, thanks for your timely response... seems like the DOS are delaying the process a bit now...probably because of the holiday mood... please keep us informed when you check back with the dc guys.

Even when i tried to call them yesterday i got the same answer
from them but I keep trying 2-3 times then I got the answer third time. so keep trying 2-3 times.

Hi Folks,
Is there anyone whose Visa Issues/Approved date is Dec 4th for DC recd date as Sep 27th, who havent got their passports as of today ie Dec 9th?

Just a reminder, the people who answer the phones are the same people to process our applications, so the more we phone the slower the process becomes.

Hi, my case was approved on Dec 4th and I called them today to check visa print status. It is still not printed when I ask the timeframe for visa print then lady told me probably two weeks. I don't know why they are not telling truth.Is your visa printed?

My approval date is dec 3rd, also i haven't received the passport yet, called the office today afternoon and they are saying that it has gone for printing so dont know when we'll get the passport, also i have a change of address so i have to daily track the passport so as i have to call fedex to divert my passport to new address.

I have sent mine passport on sept 11th...sl recd on sept 13th.
I dont have any further information. I see that all of you have information on when it reached dc office and if it was approved yet . Could someone pass on the number i could call. thanks!

Also my friend has sent his on sept 3rd and not yet received his passport. are there any of you who filed on or before that date and are still waiting for your passport?

Hello All,
I called the DOS today and the officer said that there are a whole lot of passports to be processed and they are not sure of the progress.
My DC Date is Sep 27.
They would give me an update only early next week. My travel date is Dec 26th.

samsett, these guys seem to slog the process now... there seem to be no further approvals from the past 4 -5 days. my dc date is sept 28th and i have my travel on dec 24th.
 
Number to call DC office!

Hi mrids_m,
Here is the number to call DC office to find out when your passport was received at the DC office.

Have you Passport number handy.

Call 202-663-1225
select option 1,0

All the best.

One suggestion is that if your travel date is not in the next 2 weeks, kindly call the DC office only next week since the same folks who attend our call are the ones who work on our cases.

Hence if you are not in a hurry to know the status, I suggest you call next week.

There are a number of folks whose DC recd date is SEP27th and greater waiting to know their status and all of them are calling DC office this week.

Thanks for the info. My travel date is jan 3rd. so I can wait another week and see.

I am thinking I should recall my application if I dont receive it by the 20th. Does that sound like enough time to get back my passport ? they say it takes 5 working days but with the holidays who knows.
