I am very new to this retrogression discussion and would like to make sure I understand this. If this bill passes, what benefits we are going to have? 1. Anybody who has a labor cert in hand will be able to file 485 and get EAD, AP. 2. Those lucky ones will get their GC very soon because of the recaptured visa numbers. Am I understanding this correctly? FYI, I am just preparing for my EB3 perm filing, and I am from Singapore (rest of the world). Thanks!

Question to the H1B experts;
I am on my 8 th year H1B. My LC is pending with Philly BEC. I have to apply for my next H1 Extension soon. Can I apply for a 3 year Extension ,because my priority date is not current. Is it possible ? anybody got it ?

Spouse Quota same as H4 Quota (or No QUOTA)
As per my understanding, Spouse quota will become unlimited as it done for H4 visas.

What IF HOUSE VOTE AGAINST THE L-1 PROVISION
The House Judiciary Committee has already passed provisions identical to those sought by Senator Byrd. In the next week House would vote on this provisions and then following week the conference committee will reconcile the differences.
My Questions is that What if House VOTE AGAINST this provisions. My guess is that in that case the provision will be drop and Senate provision will be automatically accepted by everyone.
Therefore we should try to contact the members of the house and convince them to support the provision approved by the SENATE.
I AM NOT AN EXPERT BUT I THINK THAT WE SHOULD GET IN TOUCH WITH SOME EXPERT AND FIND OUT FROM HIM IF ABOVE MENTIONED THOUGHTS ARE POSSIBLE OR NOT.

That will have repercussions... If they do agree to spouse/dependant Visa similar to H4, it will be a big handicap!
With an H4 forget abt working if your Spouse so feels, there are states where he/she can not even get a SS#/Driving License with an H4...

Where can we find out when exactly this bull is scheduled for vote in the House for Reps? And When is the vote on conference committee?

Within next 10 days after the voting
As per my understanding, Once the bill gets passed in both the houses, President has 10 days to sign for it to become law (when the congress is still in session for those 10 days).

We dont know how the family members will get their GCs.
All of us here are assuming that spouse and children will be given Green Cards without any limit on how many can be issued! (Similar to how H4 visas are issued without any limit on quota... Eg. Only 65000 H1 workers can come inside... but it is possible to issue INNUMERABLE H4 visas for their dependants)
But that does not mean that they will not be given work permits... All GC holders will be eligible to work I suppose!
But my fearful question is that, Why would they give away INNUMERABLE GCs for dependant spouse and children when their system has a limited number of immigrant visas. Although it is our wishful thinking, it does not sound promising... What are all your thoughts on this?

We have only two weeks to go. There are some people like Lamar, and Tencrado who have and will join their hands and try to remove the immigration provision from the bill. SO let's get in touch with each of the House of Representative and tell them to support the immigration provision passed by Senate. There are lot of people that we have to call so let's begin our task. I will send fax and email to each of the representative in California on Monday. People from california please do so and also report to this board. I am also requesting others from other state to get in touch with their state representative ASAP.
