Processing time for green card based on asylum

But which questions regarding I-485 for example he asked? if you will share the questions, it can be helpful for others who might expect interview in future. Thanks
I understand but it was all questions from i-485 (Name, Last name, Yes/No questions, etc). Nothing about asylum case or anything like that. Also officer said i will give my case to supervisor and he will make decision...

Hi, my spouse and I were granted asylum in early March. I'm the principal applicant and my spouse is the derivate (beneficiary). We are planning to apply for out green cards (I-485) soon but I have a few questions:

- Can we submit both of our I-485 applications in the same envelope, or should we send them seperately?
- I'm also applying for a RTD. Can that be included in the same package or does it need to be sent separately?

Thank you!

You can send together. Nothing wrong. And my advice is do not apply for RTD as already everybody is in danger zone every GC holder. But, of course final decision is yours.

What do you mean danger zone?
Means that Trump administration already enforced travel bans for various countries and while returning to US even GC holder are undergoing with a strict scanning and screening. So traveling during these four years can be risky. You may go ahead, it’s your personal decision.

Thats fear mongering, this forum is to support and offer encouragement, there is not a sinle reported case of anyone banned from re-entering due to travel ban, and GC holders are exempted @tobbyfp , just FYI even if u submit it takes about 15 months, so its not like u can get it next week and then head for a cruise .

No, current travel bans do not typically restrict lawful permanent residents (green card holders) from entering the United States. The executive orders implementing these bans generally include an explicit exemption for green card holders, what is happening though is people who had DUI, DV, and other CMT are facing more scrutiny.

Even asylees (No GC yet) are excluded from the travel ban. I really don't know why people love spreading fear.

Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and have a question, have you seen anyone who has received their green card based on asylum or refugee status recently? I have applied for that on Dec 2023 based on asylee and did not receive yet, and I have also noticed that no one has received in the last of couple of months too.

If you check the previous pages you will see some that already got their GC or have an interview

Not exactly true, people are receiving and i suspect some are not disclosing it for a variety of issues giving what is happening out there.

We received our Refugee Travel Document (RTD) last month and have been waiting for our Green Card since March 2024. We are eager to travel, but it seems that even with the new travel ban, Asylees from certain countries are excluded. I would like to know if anyone has had recent experiences traveling with an RTD without a Green Card and whether they encountered any issues entering the country. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could share their experience. Thank you!IMG_0837 2.jpg
