Processing time for green card based on asylum

Does anyone happened that their asylum based greencard backdated less time?
I was granted asylum febuary 2020
I applied greencard exactly one year later febuary 2021
It was pending since then , then on june 2023 they sent me to redo the medical it has expired since it was two years since from the date i submitted.

My greencard was approved august 2023. They backdated residence since august 2022. Which means i lost 3 years of time. So what do you think guys should i do? Since i was granted my aslum on 2020 i though they will back date to 2020 but the process of the gc took almost 3 years which they didnt count for me. Can something be done about it? Thank you

Just wait four more years from now to apply for naturalization. There’s nothing to do buddy

Unfortunately such things are happening to us. I know people who have been living for 10 years in pending asylum applications. It is our reality

I waited 10 years to be granted now waiting for my GC it will take me more than 15 years to be a citizen

Remember, Green Card always had issue date one year back. Now after 4 years you can apply for citizenship. Green Card duration not counts from data of Asylum Approval. This is by law that after asylum approval you have to prove one year residency in the US. After that you can apply for the Green Card. Now this rule has been changed since Feb, 2023 that asylee don't need to wait for one year. He/She can apply soon after approval. So there is nothing like that which you are thinking. Enjoy your Green Card and wait for four years get the citizenship. Good Luck

Yes, I took the recent offer. I applied for asylum in October 2014, got approved 9 years later, May 2023. I submitted I-485 and medical record, and got the receipt of notice on September 18, 2023, about 3.5 months as an asylee. I assume to wait more than a year before I get an RFE to show proof of 1 year of residency in the U.S.

Question about the back of the green card: does the 3rd line have to include the father's and mother's initials? I was curious about the back of the card and did some research and it showed that.
Mine doesn't have their initials - it only includes my first and last name.

2014-10: applied for asylum
2015-03: applied for EAD#1
2015-05: received EAD#1
2016-04: received EAD#2
2017-05: received EAD#3
2018-05: interviewed and referred to IJ
2018-12: master hearing#1
2019-07: received EAD#4
2019-09: master hearing#2
2022-01: received EAD#5
2023-05: asylum granted by IJ
2023-09: applied for LPR and RTD
 
I got updated with "approved" online yesterday. FYI: MSC239011****

However my husband and daughter are still "finger print....". Should we ask USCIS?

here is timeline:

1/2015 Apply Asylum
10/2017 Interview(denied)
11/23/2021 Court(granted)
11/25/2022 Mail the GC application
11/30/2022 receipt date
12/2/2022 Cash taken
12/9/2022 Fingerprints Were Taken
 
So is taking about 10 months to proceed the green card . Did you send the medical

Here is a blurb from uscis
WHAT ARE THE GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR NATURALIZATION TO
BECOME A U.S. CITIZEN?
To be eligible for naturalization based on being lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence,
you must:
Asylees are admitted to lawful permanent resident status as of the date 1 year before the approval of
their Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status.
Upon the approval of their Form I-485, refugees are admitted to lawful permanent residence as of the
date of their arrival in the United States.

it is so simple that your time counting starts from the date when your GC approved. if you got your GC in May-2023 and the approval date is May-2022, your time starts from the date of approval mentioned on the green card.

Lawfully admitted means the date when your GC approved.
