Processing time for green card based on asylum

How to find

I did the same thing for my i485 with i693. How did you know they transferred your case to FO? Does it say in your status?
Go to USCIS website, ask the virtual assistant "Emma", type "live agent". Then the system will assign an agent to answer your question. Tell he/she where is my case or is my case transferred to the field office.

Thank you for sharing that, I have tried that. it is 10 months already applying with i693. hope to approve soon

CONGRATSSSS!!
i had a similar timeline to you and they left me wait 95 days after RFE was received so i had to sue them to get my GC. the worst federal agency exist in this planet if i didn't force them by law to get my GC i would probably wait another year.

Hello! How I can sue the uscis can you help me with this?
you need first to do inquiry and if now response and your case has been pending for 12 months and no updates yet then you can contact an attorney and file writ of mandamus and once the summons of the court gets delivered for the 4 defendants ( national benefits center- USCIS HEARDQUARTER- U.S ATTORNEY GENERAL- US ATTORNEY GENERAL OF YOUR DISTRICT) then they have only 60 days to give you a decision but 90% of the cases and my case included i got my GC 1 MONTH after i sued them and once you get the GC your attorney will dismiss the case at the court !!! honestly i was so satisfied to sue them cause i couldn't take their bs anymore.

Congrats! Could you tell me how do come up with the FOIA idea? Has anyone else used it and it worked?

Hi everyone,

I received this message regarding my online case status: "On October 27, 2023, your request to have your I-485 case expedited, referral number T0B1321399455MSC, was assigned to an officer for a response." for my I485 expedited request.

Also, I did expedite my I131 same time too and there said "Expedite Request Approved".

Has anyone had a similar experience or can anyone provide insights into what this message might mean for my expedited I-485 request?"

it means that if you sent an expedite request to speed up your case, that request has been approved and your case will be processed quickly.

Congrats. You are lucky guy that both I-485 and I131 are approved for expediting. Could you share the reason you submitted for expediting? Thank you so much.

My GC was received last month(we applied December of 2022) but my husband and kid's are still pending.

For the i-485 it doesn’t mean that it was approved the message is very clear that it was assigned for an officer to decide on it so no decision yet and when it’s approved or even declined it will say your expedite request regarding your case is completed not assigned to an officer cause trust me i been through that process !

Btw expedite request for the i-485 is 10 times harder than expedite request for i-131 cause to get GC expedited it really needs to be something very very serious while the i-131 isn’t easy as well but much much easier.
Good luck to y’all.

I don't know if the FOIA actually helped move the case along, I just did it because I wanted to see what would happen.
There’s no specific steps that would help you. Every case adjudicated differently. All what you can do just wait for 2 years and then try to file mandamus but it is still not guarantee you great outcome as I said above it depends

that's not right at all!! i filed writ of mandamus only after one year and got my GC after 1 month of filling the mandamus. the USCIS gets scared as hell of the mandamus lawsuits as the U.S attorney general push them to finish the case asap so the applicant dismisses the case real quick otherwise they are in trouble!! the federal agencies aren't immune to the federal lawsuits. anyone can file writ of mandamus after 1 year since they already submitted the application to the USCIS!!!
