Processing time for green card based on asylum

Wow so fast congratulations. Mine was 1 months move to CT and same like you only through Emma chat I know it they transfer my case. When I apply I send with medical together let's hope they won't let my medical expire before getting decision.
Hi there,
How do you make Emma say where our case is located or transferred to? I tired to type in my case number and ask where is it located and it just replied back with links to online case status.
Please let me know how to do it.
Thanks

Hello! You should talk with live agent through Emma chat and you will give information the agent and they will tell you where your case is and last updates.

Hello everyone, here I have a question with my I-730 approval notice, in the approval notice that I received from USCIS regarding my petition I-730 it is written that( your petition is approved and forwarded to the Department of State National Visa Center. This completes all USCIS action on this petition), somehow I was thinking that they will forward my case to NVC after a couple of week but from this letter I understand that is has been already forwarded and I should wait to receive the case number from NVC, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hello, I filled my asylum application in 2016 when I moved to the US. My application got approved in June 2023 but in the letter it says that I have to apply for green card 1 year after that date. Do you know if it is possible that I apply earlier as I was in the US since 2016 or still I have to wait a year? because I'm kind of scared to apply earlier and pay the fee then they deny it because its earlier than a year and my money goes to the waste.

Better to wait 1 year to be sure nothing unexpected happens with your application,June come fast.

You can apply before one year gets completed but In order for USCIS to approve i485 you must have completed one year since approval of your asylum. Since i485 processing takes over year you can apply in six months time from you case approval date and you will be little ahead in the queue.

You can apply for your green card without waiting for the one year of physical presence. However, you need to have one year of physical presence by the time it is adjudicated. Like Smartish11 said, it is recommended to wait at least 6 months from your asylum approval as there have been instances of cases being approved within 6 months.

Hello!

Congratulations on being approved!

I have a similar case to yours! I applied for asylum in 2016 and got approved in November 2023. I asked my attorney and he said there is no need to wait for a year. I applied almost a month ago (I sent them both I-485 and I-693 at the same time.) A week ago or more, I received my receipt notice with a priority date. If applying immediately after approval had been an issue, they would have said something.

Also, what matters is that you must have been in the US at the time they grant you the GC. GC cases take a while to process, so by the time it is my turn, it will have been a year or more already.

pray that no one open or review your file until November 2024 otherwise you will get denied and lose the money you spent and will have to reapply again cause the law says you must have spent whole year in the US after your asylum approval before you get approved for the GC based on asylum.

No, this is not exactly like that. My case was approved in Feb 2023 and I applied in May 2023. GC approval usually take a year or more to approve. So I expect my GC in May or June and my one year residency will complete in Feb 2024. So this is not the case. You can send your case after two months along with all required documents and it will take about 12 to 15 months.

Well you're lucky if you get approved in 12-15 months. I'm waiting 18 months and nothing so far.
