Please take a minute to answer this poll. It will interesting to see if the results mirror what USCIS shows.

This is a very flawed poll. Africa and Australia don't exist? And what happened to the rest of Asia like Japan and Korea?

The poll is based on the top 20 countries of birth for N-400 applicants in table 1 on link below and was incorporated into 10 top areas due to the limitations of the polling option on this forum. As you can see, Japan and Korea are not on the top 20 and therefore weren't included.

probably you should have put east Asia instead of vietnam and china?

Since China and Vietnam were in the top 5 on the USCIS list I opted to include them by themselves instead grouping them together as a part of east Asia.
Again, this poll is to compare what the top 20 countries USCIS data shows and it not an exhaustive study of all the countries in the world.

This poll is deeply flawed because the sample size is not wide enough. You are basically polling people with internet access and knowledge of this forum. I bet there are better statistics on the official site.

I'm absolutely sure that there are more accurate statistics on the site, but I think that Bobsmyth is trying to see if the membership of this forum reflects the USCIS stats.

I am certain it won't reflect the official stats. The forum is skewed towards internet savvy people who are only one set of the pool. Of course one is welcome to poll but if we know that the data set we are given is not accurate then what is the point of this study? Gigo!!

Again, the purpose of this pool is to compare the areas of birth for N-400 applicants on this forum based on the top 20 countries of birth from USCIS stats. It's was never meant as a representative survey of all N-400 applicants out there neither was it meant to cover all countries.
I don't see the purpose of calling this pool "deeply flawed" without even taking into consideration what it's about in the first place. I guess some people here rather critique something without bothering to look at the intention of the pool in the first place.

This pool is a comparative analysis, not a statistical analysis. Stop bashing it for what it's not.

Yes, put India if you are applying as Indian citizen.

cafeconleche: Normally, you should have put Indonesia, since you were born there. The poll title clearly says "N-400 applicants by country of birth ". Since Indonesia is not one of the choices, technically, you cannot participate in this poll.

Bobsmyth, O man with the smiling woman! Why is there confusion and two interpretations of this? This type of interpretation will surely cause the poll results to be flawed.

" areas of birth for N-400 applicants on this forum" -- if it is anecdote you want, from what I see and can deduce from user names, about 70-80% of the userids sound Indian!! So I have the answer to your poll.

What the poll is telling me so far is that Mexicans and Chinese don't access this forum or are afraid to answer.
