Time Gap

Just wanted some idea from you all. How much is generally the time lag from the time your case reaches the Philly DOL and the time it enters the system.

Would appreciate if anyone of you can let me know abt it.

SESA TRANSFERRED MY CASE ON OCT 11,2002 AND WHEN i CHECKED AVM WITH MY CASE NO,ITS GIVING A MESSAGE 'CASE NOT FOUND'.

And moreover,most of the case numbers in this thread starts with 033 .But my case number starts with 014.Does anyone have a similiar type of case number.
 
Processing times

Looks like the PHilly DOL is currently processing all RIR cases filed in July and Aug first week 2002. For non-RIR, they are currently processing all April and May first week 2002 cases.
 
Case No

Prasad,
First of all, where did u get ur case no?
2ndly you can get ur case no and DOT CODE, once you call to phy DOL and give them Employer Phone. The AVM also tells u about the Received Date. Usually it takes 2-3 days to enter their System.

You are 50/50 right. They are processing July cases not August. All of our friends in this thread with dated 08/01 to onward still waiting to get their LC approved. But we should keep hope or the best.

Other method for checking status...

Friends,
Is there any other method besides AVM to check on one's application status. Seems to me there is so much scope for guesses and inaccurate information as to which date Philly DOl is processing. Seems pretty inadequate in my opinion that there beonly 1 system --AVm to get to know what the status is.
Also, what's up in Philly DOL, since how long are they on July End and why are they not moving. anybody know why?
With SESA virginia , the least one could do was give them a call have a (kindly )agent tell us what the status was, how many applications there were and some predictability. With Philly DOl I feel completely in the dark!
If it weren't for this forum and the fact that so many people follow and contribute to it diligently, I would be competely lost!.

Let's Keep up the good work guys, but is there any way we can write/ask/initiate any better response and status check mechanism at philly dol?...One would most certainly wish for that....

Delays at Philly DOL

I was wondering if the slowing of the process at Philly DOL is related to the cases filed at the end of April in VA SESA bcoz of which we have been waiting for more than a year already. Would it be so?
 
I checked it by sending mail !!

All,

I have checked status of my case (which is basically still pending)by using DOL's e-mail system. It is very cool and the reply is almost instantaneous. It said that they will update the system every day at 5:00 AM.

If you are bothered to call AVM and patiently going thru the whole process of pressing keys, e-mail is good option. You can submitt it once a day and you can have the status of a known case number or entire case history of LCs from your employer.

It gives some other extra information on DOT, Salary etc.,

Address to use: LCSTATUS03@doleta.gov

Do not specify any in subject.

In body :
Case 12345678 - to get status for a case.
Employer Phone (xxx) xxx-xxxx - to get recent history of LCs from ur employer


Example: Reply from DOL

I applied for Labor in June last week. Two days back I checked by phone for status, using Emp phone number, all cases are with Phile DOL on Oct 4 th. Now Phili DOL is processing July cases.

My question is July means , applied labor in July ( for SESA) or received by Phili DOL....I am littel confused with processing dates.

Mine is EB II RIR, DOT 030.062-010

Hi,
Ignore SESA times. All those processing times mentioned in the AVM system regards to the time when the DOL receives petitions from SESA. They have one time for RIR cases and another for NRIR cases.

I don't know if this answers your question. But according to my lawyer, my case was sent to philly DOl on 05-30-2002 but it entered the system only on 08-09-2002.

So even after the case was sent to DOL depending upon the volume of application the wait time can be as long as 2 months (as in my case).

A question

Guys,
Does anybody know how long the priority dates will remain current for EB2 & EB3 for Indians? Also, when the DOS says that the November 2002 dates are current for all categories, does that mean that every guy with approved LC can file for I-140 and I-485 before Nov 31st 2002.

Yes, you are right. And priority dates are applicable only to I-485.

On top of it, priority dates are expected to be current thru 2004 (until Oct 2004). Being said that, no one can ever be sure about INS, but they will stay current for a while and thats some thing not to bother at this time :cool:

Thanks for your reply.I got my case number from the receipt letter which SESA sends as soon as they receive our case initially.
I checked AVM.My case was transferred from SESA on Oct11,Friday and it has been updated on Oct15,tuesday in the AVM, since 14th was a holiday.The case number for that starts with 033........... I am confused.Which one did you consider as your case no.Did your case number matches with the one you received initially.

You should stick with 033xxxx. That's your final case number at DOL in PHIL for future Ref.
