PERM Tracker - Chicago

Wondered exactly when I can start working and getting paid? Is it when you get the LC approved or do i have to wait til I get the I140 approved?
 
Thank you very much i-for-a-change. I have one more questions.I dont have exp letter for the first two years of IT experience.I have for the rest of the years(8 years including after MS exp).Will they ask for all exp letters??can you clarify this.

You should have no problem to qualify EB2. I heard people were forced to file EB3 in similar cases due to their wages were lower than the prevailing wages.

How fast will you get the green card depends on a number of things: where you were born, which EB category you will be filing, and conditions of your employment, how much help you will have from your HR and lawyer, and a little bit luck.

Waiting for approval for more than 6 months

Hi,

My PERM EB2 was filed in feb 2006 and I still haven't got any update. The lawyers just say they can't do anything and enquires to DOL dont help.
Just wondering if there is anything I can do, since I haven't had good experience with the big company lawyers :(

Alternate education approvals under PERM

I have posted this message in another forum but wanted to repost in this one as well. Wondering if there are any approvals with alternate education for Eb2 under PERM. My labor is currently going on with Atlanta center and I presume rules would similar between Chicago and Atlanta.
I have MS is Chemical but working as software engineer \IT specialist since I graduated 5 years back. My PERM is currently applied as MS+1 year as per my attorney’s suggestion,

Curious if there are any approvals with similar situation? Any suggestions are highly appreciated.

My laywer is planning to re-apply my labor under PERM and EB2 category. I already have approved labor & I-140 under EB3.
Re-application under EB2 is based on MS in Polymer Science & Engineering and I am also working in Software in US since 2000.

Eb3 Perm

My EB3 PERM was certified on Sep.20.2006. Please update the tracker.
Filing date is Sept.21.2005. It took exactly a year to get certified. Now I have to wait for VISA number since it is EB3 :(
 
Just applied..

After waiting for close to 3 years on I-140 approval without any success, I have begun the process of applying for a new labor and starting all over.

My office admin just sent me a note saying that the application has been filed and she gave me a receipt number (from the email she received from USCIS).

I was under the assumption that the applications would be approved or denied within 15 days. But I notice that some people have been waiting for more than a year. Why are we paying a premium for this process if it is as slow as the traditional process?

Anyways, considering how lucky I really am, I have a long wait :-(

There is no typical processing time for PERM cases. Some are approved within a week of filing, while others remain pending for several months. Our longest PERM case took over 1 year to have an answer issued.
I don't get what you mean by "paying a premium." There are no fees that go to the PERM centers themselves. The only payment should be going to the attorney fees for the attorney that works on your case. Being a paralegal, I draft these cases every day. They are extremely extensive, and I understand why the fees are so high. The pressure is extremely intense. If you make one mistake, even a typo, someone's life could be screwed up irreperably.
Not everyone is out to "screw you" over. Some of us actually do care, a LOT.

Examples od Advertisment Wordings for PERM

Can someone please post the wordings for the advertisments that have been run in the newspapers. Just wanted to get an idea of how detailed it should be. I am trying to cut down on the cost of the advertisment. It is around $1000 for 2 sundays in Detroit.

How many employees are their in your company. MY company(american company) is filing h1 for me and they want to file greencard also for me.But this is the 2nd H1 they are doing.So they are hesitating to do green card rt now. I would like to know from you the details about your company.
You mentioned,yours is under EB2. How many years of experience do you have?

My employers company has around 30-35 consultant working for him. This is 6-8 years old company. It doing great business and making good profit from more than 5 years. I guess this factor will help process I-140 without much trouble :) . Hope this helps.

IT looks like there is no use of just fighting on retrogression alone you have to raise the voice against FBI Name check delays which is also taking 1 - 3 years.


Issues:
a) Labor BEC - 3 years
b) I 140 - 2 weeks to 1 year
c) Retrogression - Typically will stop you and you might have to wait for 6 months to 3 years
d) New thing - FBI Name check (under 485) is taking around 1 - 3 years

Company witholds information

Can someone please advice what can be done when the employer witholds information from the employee on the PERM status. I do believe I have received PERM long time ago, however the comapny does not want me to proceed with further steps therefore withholds the information.

Any advice is appreciated.
