PCC Tracking - Chennai Feb Interview

I see a pattern here..

I applied on 19th Dec, case was faxed on 21st to RPO...RPO faxed reply back on 10th Jan..Chicago says they never got it..My clearance also was sent by diplomatic pouch on 18th..I have few more days before it is 45 days..Hopefully I will see light at the end of the tunnel...

Are both of you guys from Bangalore?

Santha is from Chennai and Chicago seems to be accepting the fact that they received his fax well within 30 days. Make sure the problem is not on the other side ?

I sent a fax request to Chicago for case update..see what happens?? I am also planning on going to Chicago JUST FOR THIS..on 4th or 5th Feb and get this sorted out..by then it will be over 45 days in my case...

GCAPPL..I know you are from Detroit..what is your plan for PCC from Chicago..
 
Make sure RPO is faxing to the correct ans working fax machine.

Guys,

This happened in my case too. Chennai RPO first said they faxed it
which was not received by Chicago. The reason was that fax machine
was not working in those days. So make sure with Chicago if all of
their fax machines are in working condition. When I called Chicago
they said one of their fax machine 312 595 0418 was not working. Then
I called Chennai again and informed them the same. They again faxed
it to a different number which Chicago confirmed it\'s receipt. Chicago
has total three fax numbers. 312 595 0416, 312 595 0417 and
312 595 0418 and find out which is working and which is not working.
All this exprience was during 15th January.
 
I have applied for PCC on 4th Jan

My interview is on 12th and I am leaving on 5th. I am not sure if I will get PCC by then. I am trying hard to get guys at Chennai to get this moving fast. And then there is a long weekend at Chennai. Friday is state holiday for cricket mtch, 26th is republic day. So if it doesnt get done tomorrow I will have to wait till Monday.
What is the alternative to getting it from Chicago?
 
I applied for Indian PCC at the same time as I-140

I too have applied for PCC at Chicago. Looking at the time period that it is taking I think I did the right thing by applying 7 months before I need it. In Melbourne, Indian consulate takes 11 weeks for PCC. I would say the US consulates are not doing too bad. I am planning a Sydney consular. Australian PCC takes a maximum of 3 weeks, and they don\'t need our passport to stamp, and announce that a PCC was issued like the Indian consulates require.

Got mine from Hyd RPO

My father got my PCC from the passport office. They received my request and gave my father a copy of their approval. I am not sure if they have sent the same to SFO, but I plan to call the consulate and take the approval to them(fax copy) and get them to stamp my passport. I applied on jan-7th at SFO.

The verbiage is funny:

PCC MAY BE ISSUED ON MERIT, POLICY REC. DESTROYED DUE TO EFLUX
CLEARED.

wonder what that means.
 
Gandalf, a suggestion... don\'t show them the approval unless you really have to

The approval is a Govt. document and you are not supposed to have a copy. So use it only as a last resort.

I am not sure how quirky the Indian embassy folks in SF are. But, it is wise not to use it if you don\'t have to.
 
Received my PCC

Applied for PCC from Chicago Consulate General on Dec 1st.
Got a call from consulate to send in our passports for PCC stamping on Jan22nd.
I did not have to follow-up from RPO in hyderabad. I was planning to, but did not have to.
 
Got PCC clearance call from Chicago..

I applied on 19th Dec...got call today to send Passport for PCC...I am going to Chicago to pick it up next week..I don\'t want to take risk of loosing passport by mail..

My friend is trying to follow up on my Pcc and the Hyderabad RPO has mentioned that they have not received anything related to our PCC\'s.
I applied the PCC in the first week of Jan.
They are not at all picking the phone, please post the email address of CGNY appropriate to this issue.

  We requested Washington DC to expedite over the phone a couple of times.
Sent email to RPO hyd requesting to expedite their reply to DC embassy few days back. Thanks for the Suggestions in this discussion. May be that helped.

I got an email reply from RPO Hyd saying - "we have cleared your case and sent the reply vide letter so and so number to DC embassy...Contact them for further services.. " etc...

GC_Michigan, did you expedite the process by sending

someone to B\'lore? My request was faxed to B\'lore on 7th and so far nothing has happened. I do not have anyone in B\'lore and may have to just reply on whatever communication happened between chicago and b\'lore
 
Yes I did!!

My dad went several times, before he went fax had already been sent to Chicago..couple of days ago he managed to get a copy of clearance from RPO and faxed it to me..Which inturn I faxed it to Chicago..This might have helped I don\'t know..They must have gotten clearance by fax from Bangalore or through diplomatic pouch or used my fax as reference..I am not aware of the avenue they chose...
