Rampage - Question on Affidavit?

It says "Affidavits should not be less than 12 months old when presented to the consular officer" so if i take a Affidavit of birth or marriage from my parents now for march interview that won\'t be valid?
 
I need help with PCC ...please

My I140 got approved and i am planning to apply for the PCC. I am with Chicago consulate and my passport was issued at chennai RPO.
Can you please tell me the procedure.
1. Do i have to send my original passport when applying for PCC or simply copy of all the pages of Passport with payment.
2. I have a kid less than 3 years old do i have to apply for him also(even though it sounds ridiculous i just want to clarify from you guys).
3. What is the amount i have to send with the application(i saw in this forum somewhere that it is $11+$20) but consulate site says $20 for each application.
I am really awaiting reply from you guys. If it is already answered please point me to the link.

Can anyone help ....

I got my P3 last Oct. and am going over the CP process again now (sort of RipVanWinkle) and noticed that we require PCC.
I reside n work in NewJersey. How can I get PCC (the process) ?.
I am going to India (vizag) on Feb 9 will am getting married on Feb 20. Plan to mail P3 after marriage. Should I get my PCC after returning back ? What should I do for my spouses PCC. She is in India currently.
Any advise is appreciated.

No i had sent my passports via Fedex and also included a self addressed prepaid Fedex envelope for them to return the passports.

What does the PCC clearance in passport look like? Does that have a date, stamp or signature?
Please help.
 
PCC in Passport

This has verbage like " PCC has been issued to the passport holder" with reference number date (stamp) consulate stamp and vice-consulate officer signature...This is in addition to a letter they issue citing there is not adverse record to indicate the person with XXX passport number to prevent the person from travelling...

At last...

Received PCC from B\'lore. Will go to Chicago on Monday to collect the same. Had to trouble a friend in B\'lore for follow up and also made calls to B\'lore RPO.

How Much time it is taking to reach from SFO Consulate?

Any body who got PCC from SFO Consulate know how much time it is taking to reach us after they send in airborne?
Mine got cleared in India RPO and I have to talk with SFO people and I have 15th Feb interview.

PCC trouble help.

Hi,

I have my interview at chennai on Feb 14. I have been in India for the last 2 months on business and vacation. I took a PCC from the Hyderabad passport office. I do not have enough time to take a PCC from the SFO consulate (this rule did not exist when I left USA). I was wondering if the indian PCC will be sufficient or I have to actually travel to USA just for the PCC. I am wondering what will be the effect if I walk into the interview with the PCC issued by the hyderabad passport office.

Please suggest what I can do. Thanks in advance.

Folks, please reply if you have got PCC. Besides passport do we need anyother docs for getting PCC stamped? I am going to Ind. Cons. @ NYC tom.
I am not sure if they would need photos/copy of passport etc. I have given all of it while applying.

Experience people, please answer.

Costa - All you need to carry is passport(s).

I collected mine from Chicago yesterday. You may want to hear the same from someone who got it from NY though

COPY SHOULD DO AT THE TIME OF APPLYING. YOU WILL HAVE TO PRODUCE ORIGINAL BEFORE THEY WILL ISSUE IT THOUGH.

IF KID IS US CITIZEN THEN NO. IF NOT, I WOULD SUGGEST YOU TAKE IT (SOUNDS REDICULOUS BUT YOU NEVER KNOW)

DIFFERENT CONSULATES SEEM TO BE DOING THIS DIFFERENTLY. WOULD SUGGEST CALLING THEM UP PERSONALLY AND CONFIRMING.
 
There are numerous threads on how to for PCC

Would suggest you browse through them. Basically, you just apply to the local consulate (assuming you are currently residing in US).

Regarding your P3, not sure why you want to wait till after marriage, but anyways, you don\'t have to wait to apply for your PCC. I think it is valid for 6 months. If wife is coming back with you, then I would suggest to wait and request PCC together from the local consulate. If she is staying back, she will have to get it from RPO/Police in India.
 
Technically, you are supposed to get it from your place of residence

So, if US is your current residence, you should be getting it from the local consulate. But logically, PCC from RPO is the same as from the consulate, so.... I would suggest to clarify with the US consulate as we donot have sufficient history on PCC to go by.
