I think it's fair to say that the last updated date is somewhat flaky (i.e. unreliable). For example, there have been reports by some that their last updated date has been changing almost daily ever since they did something like apply for a new EAD.

And, there are tons of earlier cases which haven't had their last updated date changed which is difficult to interpret (unless the VSC is quickly scanning cases and pulling "easy" ones and only updating the date for these but I'd still expect to see a more consistent pattern).

In my case, my I-140 / I-485 last updated date changed last week from 10/23/03 to 10/28/03 (i.e. by 5 days) which seems odd. I'm guessing that either someone pulled the case last week and started working on it (hopefully) or our lawyer sent in a change of address notification (which he was planning to do afaik) and the VSC processed this.

I think individuals might be able to make sense of changes to their last updated date but afaict, it's hard to read anything into groups of changes for cases that we don't know anything about.

all of these cases are approved now.. it was "last updated" status at 12.30PM at 1.00PM all are changed to "approved"...

Is VSC approving ONLY Concurrent filed applications??

I am just wondering if VSC is approving ONLY concurrent filed applications

... mine is a non- concurrent application (CP) with a ND of 10/31 (EAC04022).

Please share any thoughts...

Strange -- I wonder if these are all from the same company or in the same special category (e.g. nurses) since they seem to be getting handled together?

october approvals

Guys:

less than 5% of jun/july /august/september cases had been touched for EB-2 category.Looks like they are processing October 2004 case first as October is the first month for immigration calendar and shelved late 2003 cases. could some one throw some light in this matter.

Come up with rational when you say less than 5%. How did you get this figure?

I don't agree ... last time when I was scanning I140 for June-July (that was 4/12/2004) there were ~50% approvals. And they were reporting then June 2003 as processing date. From then I saw a lot of ppl posting approvals ... 5% is a very low estimation.

Ah, make sense. going by the Oct/Nov case load, it seems like things should gallop pretty fast...thanks for the insight

I am not sure how hard it is to collect these numbers (how do you calculate these?), but would it be possible to post these statistics for 2004 months as well? I know it is too early for the 2004 cases, but it would be useful to have these at hand, for "forecasting" USCIS's progress in processing dates in the coming months. Thanx!

3 ways:

1. Use scanner.

2. Check http://www.immigrationwatch.com. Click on Processing Statistics and under 140 select Vermont and year. Click on it and see it yourself.

3. Fake it.

So can I expect three dinners?
