"Ocean" subproject - Fax to Senators of California - Get 15 Adjudicators for EB I-485

Hmmm....

I have done my best to get the senators attention but ....

Though we cry our agony out loud in the form of petitions, requests, calls or something else ......

Nothing is going to change ....
They WILL continue on the snail pace and we will see a trickle of approvals every week and we need to be happy with what we get ....

Did we see any positive response for the petition till now ? I haven't ……and NO petition pioneers in this/any forum wrote a positive reply .... or even a reply to any of the threads when asked about the progress on the petition ….

Sorry!!! if I am down a lot today ..... when this dirty game of waiting ends ...???

Law Suit is the only solution. Law Suit it is …

What actually have you done by yourself ?

> Nothing is going to change ....
I don't think so.
We are making a change .. but very slowly.

> They WILL continue on the snail pace and we will see a trickle of approvals every week and we need to be happy with what we get ....
Your RD is August 2002.
If this snail pace would continue, you have to wait another four years ?
Are you happy with it ?

A few positive reponses were there, it is small but not zero.
Also, we started taking action just one month ago,
and most of activities are to send the petitions.
If we could get positive responses from such activities, we had not seen such a big problem of the huge EB I-485 backlog.

> Sorry!!! if I am down a lot today ..... when this dirty game of waiting ends ...???
It will never end unless we take an action.
We have to make it end.

If you can file a lawsuit even alone, that's fine.
There were a lot of discussions at the VSC forum two week before, but no one could not file a lawsuite.
If everyone expects a class action, I think the attempt would fail.
Lawsuit might be the only solution.
However, I think we have some challenges that is worth to try before Lawsuit.

USPS Certified Mails sent - "Ocean" subproject - Fax to Senators of California

I have just sent the following documents to both Senators' Washington DC offices by USPS Certified Mail.
1) cover letter
2) petition (8 pages)
3) list of 3,002 signatures as of 9am 10/27/2003 (134 pages)

Although I have been trying to fax a letter, both fax lines have been busy.

Thanks, wittAAAA.

I believe nobody of WAC-03 want to wait for another 5 to 10 years just for a green card.

waitn2long - faxed to B. Boxer

(originally posted at Project Ocean thread by waitn2long)

My letter:
Dear U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer;

The Employment-Based Green Card (aka EB I-485) is vital to attract and retain highly qualified professionals from other countries. For businesses in Silicon Valley, it provides them access to extremely motivated, hard-working technical wizards. For the legal immigrant, it is an important milestone in achieving and enjoying the freedom and opportunity of the American society. The EB I-485 process currently suffers from long delays – frustrating the ambitions and expectations of thousands of future citizens.

I am one of the EB I-485 applicants suffering from the current processing delay at the California Service Center of the US Citizenship and Immigration Service, I am also a member of one of the largest legal worker's online immigrant community -- ImmigrationPortal.Com. You will soon receive our petition and the list of signatures from one of the members of our community in California.

Please take our petition into consideration. Specifically, I would urge you to request the Director of California Service Center to allocate (at least) fifteen adjudicators dedicated to EB I-485 processing. This would serve to reduce the backlog (presently at two years).

We understand if the EB I-485 filing fees were increased in order to support a larger number of dedicated adjudicators.

I commend your continued support of hi-tech immigrants and for recognizing their contribution to Silicon Valley.

Best regards,

Hi, wittAAAA,
Don't mind "null.txt".

A couple of months ago, I created a simple editor including posting function originally for Project Kashmir due to the reason described at that thread.
It posts a message with null.txt as attachment in default.
I have been too lazy to update my program, sorry.

Mercury news lobbies for GC

Dan Gilmor in the san jose
mercury news
has suggested that Andy Grove of Intel
should lobby for GCs instead of H1Bs and we all agree

So which Senator wants to go make history
in this turning point of
Technology defining Immigration

Arnold says that California is a Technology state
and we all agree
The great Gray Davis championed for the
Technology boom and we salute his achievements

Unless they want jobs to head to Florida/East coast
forcing people to sell houses and causing the ultimate drop

Hi, Jeremy,
Thanks for your sending letters.
You shall receive a letter from Senators, and it may help you in future.

By the way, fax lines at Senators' office seem busy...
This means many people are faxing to Senator's offices for other issues than Immigration.
It may be another reason that EB I-485 is always the low priority.
I encourage more people to send a letter or fax a letter to Congressional offices.
