Sharing Some Research Result on G-731N

Since nobody replied, I did some 2-hour thorough research through this portal and the web. I could not find the answer to item 3 and 5 (item 5 - Date Entry of Adjustment, in particular). But I believe (and agreed by some posting) that only page 2 is needed.

After I almost gave up with item 5, I went to the INS official Chinese version of the form and found out what the heck "entry" means. Chinese clearly indicates item 5 is "Date of data entry for adjustment of status". To reconfirm, I opened up the Spanish version and with the help of a friend, it means "date of immigration status change". So here entry is NOT entry of person, but is entry of data. To this end, it is simply the date of adjustment of status, or the date of passport stamping.

To summarize,
1. Only sheet 2 needed.
2. For item 3, either port of last entry or office of passport stamping (for me they are the same). But the latter makes more sense.
3. Item 5 = Simply the date of passport stamping.

is the 60 days true? or 90 days? or 12-18 months

I got PP stamp last month, I am confused what is true about to get plastic card? 60/90 days or 12-18 months as regularly

The truth is that both '60/90 days and 12-18 months' are true. So, IMO, none of 'them' is true. :D :D :D

Never thought I would be posting another message on this site, but here I am again. From Krishna Iyer's message it appears that he got his card about a week after the message changed to "card has been ordered". Are there any statistics corroborating this expectation of 7 days?

The second question I need resolution on, is the exact content of the I-551 stamp. I'd like to know if the CIS office also stamps/writes the A# on the passport. In my case they did not, and the SSA agent said that was highly unusual. In the normal course of events, this would not be a concern, but my wife is traveling abroad in about 10 days, and if she has a stamp which is possibly not correct, there could be problems in re-entry.

Fortunately, her online status changed to "card has been ordered..." on Dec 10, and we set up an appointment at the CIS office in Indianapolis for the 21st. It would still be helpful to know if going to the CIS office for re-stamping is necessary.

plastic card received for some family members

Hi,
Received the plastic cards for self, wife and daughter today (12/14). The uscis site said the card was ordered on 12/9, so got it in less than 1 week.
However my son's plastic card is yet to come, the uscis site still says the
case was approved on 3/16. Have to wait some more time - I guess - it
appears somewhat unusual.

It is important to get the alien number written out along with the I-551 stamp.

Just checked VSC, their average time of waiting for plastic card is 30.18 days. What's going on with NSC?
 
Passport Stamped......

Folks,
I got my passport stamped in Bloomington Minnesota. It was quite an experience. Here is a summary if you care to read:

1) Got up early morning on 20 Dec for passport stamping. My appointment was scheduled at 9.45 AM.
2) Found out that my 4 year old is running a mild fever. We decided to take him with us.
3) We had decided to leave the house at 8 Am but we started 15 minutes late. Got in the car at 8.15 am and got on to a highway at 8.20 AM
4) The roads were slick and icy. We saw two accidents in a span of five minutes. The traffic was moving at a snail's pace. We realized that we will miss our appointment if we keep on the highway
5) Decided to take the the alternative route. Got on to the ramp and bumped into a car. Luckily nothing happened to my car (SUV rocks in the winter) nor to the car I bumped into.
6) Got on to the alternative route at about 8:45. Traffic was moving at 15 -20 miles an hour. I was glad that it was moving.
7) Two miles from the USCIS office, the pick up in front of us lost control and hit the electric pole. The pole came crashing down and missed us by inches.
8) Reached USCIS office 15 minutes late. The gurad was considerate enough and let us in.
9) Got our passports stamped. The officer informed us that it's taking upto 1.5 years to issue the physical card. No problemo, I waited for 5 yrs to get my I485 approved. 1.5 Yrs will fly by in a sec.
10) We came out and as I was tucking my 4 -yr old in, my wife pointed out that the officer has not taken my I-94.
11) I had to go in again, wait for 15 minutes to hand over my I -94 to the officer. She apologized saying it's Monday morning. Sure.......



That's my story. IDreams, I will appreciate if you can update the spreadsheet.

Going to India, the end of this month for a loooong vacation after 2 yrs.

Did you receive plastic card after an inquiry OR did you just happen to receive your plastic card??
 
Social Security Card

Before receiving the physical card, can we change a new social security card after passport stamping? If yes, what documents are needed? Current card shows "Valid for Employment only with DHS authorization". Anyone knows, thanks.
