VSC :Oct 14 I-140 approved (Not mine)!

Just blindly browsing through Online status check and found a Oct 14/02 I-140 approved on Feb 24!

Whats going on??

2 FP notices received.

Received FP notice on 01/28/03. Did my FP on 02/07/03. Online website updated which states that INS has received my FP.
Now, I have received another FP notice. FP scheduled on 03/10/03. Anybody ever faced such a problem before. Please help!!!

I got the 2nd FP notice the same way. It could be a mistake. Also, the notice said to ignore it if FP were given in last 90 days. So, I am ignoring it. Any one else?.

It is so interesting. My wife and I received FP notices from our lawyer but online never noticed us FP. After we did , my online just told me that I have FP notice but my wife's online status didn't change at all. Then a week ago, my online status tells me that INS received my FP result but my wife's still shows nothing (not FP notice and not FP result). We got notice from lawyer on same day and did FP on same day but her online status never changed. Should we call the officer to make sure that it is consistent or ignore Since we got to response so that INS can resume the cases again. Thanks.

FP completed

Hi,

FP completed on 02/26 by my wife and me...

Checked online status. message for my application changed to FP results received and processing resumed on my case.

My wife's 485 online status still does not show the results received status. Maybe it will be late ,as my FP was done directly on the computer, while her's was done manually. They may need to scan it before sending results out to BCIS.

Manual FP

They did manual FP for my wife & me on 2/22/03. FBI hasn't received them yet and there is no change on the online status also.

I wonder why they do manual FP when they can do electronically, which takes less time and is sent to FBI immediately. The manual on the other hand has to be scanned and then sent to FBI.

Can I go to San Jose local ASC office for finger prints Instead of Boston ASC ?

I am working on a project in San Jose, CA and My lawyer got a FP appointment notice at a Boston ASC for Mar 22nd.
Can I go to San Jose local ASC office for finger prints Instead of Boston ASC ? What all the things should I take with me so that I won't have any problem? Do I have to provide the address proof?

I think you can go, No problem,Since you don't have an appointment, U may have to wait for sometime.
I did my FP today(03/04/2003), actually my appointment is on 03/08/2003.

You need to have FP letter and photo ID, That's all.
 
Urgent FP question!!! Please help.

Hi All,
My wife has received Finger Printing Notice on March 8th i.e., this saturday and she has only Passport as her identification.

Is this enough or she need to carry one more Identification ?
My friend tells me that she need atleast two forms of Identifications otherwise they will not allow her for FP, but my lawyer tells me that she wil be fine as she has her Passport and as she doesn't drive and travel, she can explain the same to the office.

I am totally confused and worried . So please any of you have faced this kind of problem and has an answer, please advice.

On the FP notice it is clearly mentioned that any one form of Picture identification is need, so a passport will do, i know a friend whose wife had only passport as identification and got their FP done with no prob.

Friends my wife & I did our FP on 2/22/03. Our scheduled date was 3/8/03. We didn't have any problems. They just asked our passports for identification.

Today our online status also has changed that the results of the FP review have been received and processing has resumed in our case.

By the way our finger printing was done manually.

Passport is enough

needhelp1,

my wife and i just showed our passports, as identification, though we had our drivling licenses with us. that should do.

Hi needhelp1,

Myself and my wife showed only our driver's license for identification. They did not ask for any additional one (we had our passports with us, but was never asked to show them). So I do not think you will need anything beyound passport.

Hi Guys,

My I 140/I 485 ( concurrent filing) FILED ON 12/06/2002.
I -140:

RD 11/14/2002.
ND 12/06/2002.

I -485 :

RD 11/14/2002.
ND 12/06/2002.


I recieved finger prints notice on 12/19/2002

I did complete finger printing on 01/24/2003.

When I check my case online it still says

Current Status:
On December 19, 2002, we mailed a notice requesting that you appear for fingerprint recording. The notice also gave the times and location where this processing could be done. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please contact the service center where you submitted your application during business hours.

They supposed to update the status to we recieved finger prints etc...
when i called F.B.I ,THEY mentioned to me they already responded to I.N.S on next day itself. Please suggest me what to do now . when i called my attorney they are help less too.

There is no consistency in updating the online status. They take their own sweet time.

Don't worry about it.

I have done my FP as per the schedule (03/07/2003), they asked me to provide only one identy either passport or Driving licence.

porus123, It took INS about 2 months to update my 485 online status to say finger print results recieved on 1/9 and processing has resuemd on your case.

ie did my fp on 1/6, ins gets results from fbi on 1/9, but the online status doesn't get updated till 3/8. I think you can conclude that it is just tardiness by ins. I wouldn't worry about it for a couple of months if I was you.
