Can a techonician staff at college
go the fast track in LC for college faculties?
I heard that college faculties can go thru a fast track for educators in LC. Can a technician go this way? It isa staff position, but the technician has a PhD degree from college in USA.

One person from my company got the labor from NY. The person had applied along with me. The priority date should be last week on june.
No idea how this is happening.

Congratulations for anyone whose labor has been approved in May. Finally there is light at the end of the tunnel. My filing date is 2003 March. no kidding there are thousands before me but am happy that atleast the light in the end of the tunnel is not the train .

Sorry for replying late. I haven't got chance to look at the thread. I don't know the exact prioroty date of the person. I couldn't get hold the person to find the date. What I know is that our application went together to the lawyer. My prioroty date is 26th June ' 01 and I think it shoudl around that for the this person.
It is possible that it might be one of the survey approvals, I am not sure. I also had a talk with labor dept and they said that they still have 5 cabnets of files for April 30th. Not sure how much more time it is going to take.

in one way, its so weird and so unfair way to pick up these cases randomly but in other side good luck for whom got in this process since they are risking their cases and in all situations its not our choice , we like who are watching very long and silly movie about our future

I was talking about those random May 2001 and June 2001 cases that were picked up ..I am very optimistic that the labor situation will improve.

i also did not got any reply from DOL which i send ...
why its happening to us only....we are waiting for such a long time ..its almost 2004 man..still our files are pending from 2001...
common DOL people ...clear our labor certifications....we are waiting for them....

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news... but I want to share this info. As per this link on DOL site, PERM would not come into effect until May'2004. See Q40 on the link and further down for more info on PERM and its relation to the backlog.

Do we really want PERM?
I keep seeing posts of PERM not getting implemented being bad news.
I am not so sure. Until we see the final regulations, many of us may or may not be able to take advantage of PERM.
For those that are not and who have been waiting a long time, they will likely have to wait even longer once those that are eligible for PERM start getting approvals getting ahead of the line of those that are not.
In addition, PERM may help move labor certifications along - which will allow for EADs but USCIS has a backlog as it is, once labor certs start flowing through at a faster pace USCIS will not be able move applications at a a faster pace than they are today.
Maybe were we need to focus next - not that we have achieved a lot in the labor certification process - is to push for premium processing of the I-140 and further support of the I-485 petition that has been posted in this portal.

I-140 and I-485 likes a dream now , usually it's a tool to get the Green card while for us it becomes a goal now.
I think the I-140 express service project is going no where, no news about it since long time and Vermont center looks like the worst centers in term of processing I-140, while the improvement on processing the I-485 is moving very quickly, the immigration agency whatever they called it now is already allocated funds to speed up the process, hopefully we will be the first people whom will benefit from this project, that if we got through LCA of course.
I can not check many immigration site seeking for news now, please update us with any improvement in the backlog centers, although I do not think any news will show up before the new year.
Note: I will buy them any if they got my LCA cleared
