Interview at NYC
Hello friends,
This morning I had an interview. Scheduled time was 11:30 am but got call inside at 4:30 PM. First, when we arrived at 11:30 am, they asked us to sign a paper and took fingerprint of the index finger. Then at 4:30 pm, they called us inside. There was a small room and two men were present there. First, they took our oath. Then asked me where I work? What is the nature of my job? In addition, how long have I been working? Then he started asking us for papers one by one. First of all the medical papers, then tax returns, then birth certificate, job letter, financial support documents. We already had copies of these documents so he took those copies. He also asked for the proof of presence in U.S. He took our I-94. He also asked us for I-140, which I could not find in my file so he rather ignored it. He asked us for birth certificates but we had notarized affidavit of support for birth certificate. He was not very satisfied and said, “We usually don’t accept this as proof of birth”. He took our affidavits to another room to ask his boss, came back, and accepted it but still then he kept asking, “Can you get any letter from your consulate?”
Other then that he said that all is fine but we did not received your Finger Print or Security clearance yet as it was taken 6 days ago. He wrote on passport that section 245i, I-485 Pending. He said they would notify us after finger print result.
I need all of my friends input about what happens in this type of case scenario. How long it takes normally to get approval notification and after approval does, they send us letter for passport stamp or they send green card in mail.
Thanks and I hope this information will be helpful for others.
