New York City Transfers

interview

My hubby and I received interview letters for 9/22.

I have several questions though:

1. Is it true that if a medical examination is more than one year, we need another one? Our lawyer suggested we don't take another one, he told us that we could just say our examination records should be in the file since we submitted with the application;

2. As for the tax return, how many years' returns should we bring?

Thank you!

Interview at NYC

Hello friends,
This morning I had an interview. Scheduled time was 11:30 am but got call inside at 4:30 PM. First, when we arrived at 11:30 am, they asked us to sign a paper and took fingerprint of the index finger. Then at 4:30 pm, they called us inside. There was a small room and two men were present there. First, they took our oath. Then asked me where I work? What is the nature of my job? In addition, how long have I been working? Then he started asking us for papers one by one. First of all the medical papers, then tax returns, then birth certificate, job letter, financial support documents. We already had copies of these documents so he took those copies. He also asked for the proof of presence in U.S. He took our I-94. He also asked us for I-140, which I could not find in my file so he rather ignored it. He asked us for birth certificates but we had notarized affidavit of support for birth certificate. He was not very satisfied and said, “We usually don’t accept this as proof of birth”. He took our affidavits to another room to ask his boss, came back, and accepted it but still then he kept asking, “Can you get any letter from your consulate?”
Other then that he said that all is fine but we did not received your Finger Print or Security clearance yet as it was taken 6 days ago. He wrote on passport that section 245i, I-485 Pending. He said they would notify us after finger print result.
I need all of my friends input about what happens in this type of case scenario. How long it takes normally to get approval notification and after approval does, they send us letter for passport stamp or they send green card in mail.
Thanks and I hope this information will be helpful for others.

I will saddest that you should bring current Medical report as they ask me for it, and regarding tax return they asked for last 2 years or more if available.

How many years' tax turns you took/the officer took? For the medical examination, was it your first one?

Thanks, we'll have interview on 11/22/05

Hi Maxpak1020,

Thank you for sharing your experience. One more question:
Did you present official returns issued from IRS, or just copies? Thank you very much.

I had file from my accountant, which was my copy of tax return, I think it had my set of W2 and copies of my tax return. exactly not sure if it was original or copy. but I am sure your accountant can answer better,

Guys,

I got infopass appt to do inquiry on pending 485.

Kindly let me know what questions to ask IIO.

Regards.

Yes. Not sure if we can have GC immediately. Anyhow now it is a transitional period for all the local offices since retro was just out.

I went for the infopass appointment this morning. The officer told me that my file was transfered back to VSC. She said our cases should be transfered together, but somehow, my wife's file was left here and got interview letter.

Any thoughts on the following question?
1. Is it common to be transfered back? Is it a good or bad?
2. Once transfered back to VSC, can I track its progress online? The officer told me Yes, but so far, the online message is still showing the old message that my case was being transfered to NYC.
3. Is there any chance my wife being approved in her interview without my case approved first (I'm the primary applicant)?

Thanks

Very Strange !

File of Primary transferred back to VSC and Derivative beneficiary file stayed and got interview letter !!!

These days they do erratic things. I found out that my file is also transferred back to VSC. Still puzzled .. why ?

Is priority date close to 98 or 99 ? just trying to find clue. my pd is 1/23/98.

Hoping that the journey ends in December. PD moved to 1/1/1999 in Dec bulletin.

The best thing to do is to go along with your wife and inquire about the reason(s) for transfer back to VSC.

Wishing you all the best.

245(i) applicants

Hi friends:

I am curious, all cases under 245 (i) will be approved in the local office after interview or anybody heard any cases approved in the service center itself? Pls reply. Thanks

One of my friend got approval letter from service center 3 months ago.
He just had to go to fedral plaze, NYC for passport stamp.
