sorry to hear the emergency u have in india. if you have a case 245i & you are traveling on AP, you can travel and come back also but will never get the green card. the law is very clear about this. if you are illegal in this country for more than 180 days & you travel abroad your application will be abanded. it happen to one of my close friend. he is in appeal process. my advice to you not to travel. further more you can ask any good immigration lawyer.

good luck

Finally interview date

Dear all,
I finally received an interview date for my wife and me :) . I hope that this is the beginning of a long list and that all of us will have it soon.
My file was transferred on July 19th, 2004
The interview date is for October 11th at 11:00 am. My wife has the same date at 10:30 am. I was under the impression that we are interviewed at the same time. I guess not.

I also received a finger print appointment for September 20th 2005. I am not sure this will give them enough time for background clearance.

Please advise me. Are there things needed for the interview date that I might no know about?

Thanks in advance.

Hey aghlen

Congratulations, on your interview letters. Is your case 245i or regular.
Well hey, all the best for the long awaited interview.

By the way , my case also got transferred on July 19th 2004 to Federal Plaza. So hopefully I should be seeing something in my mailbox too. Letz hope for the best

Thank you very much gogi274. My case is not complicated but definitely there must be something that they may find fault with. It has been 17 yrs. of growing grey hair of anxiety in America! F1,H1,ALJ appeal,F1,direct labor, 245i, Canada.. what not...

The health concern for my father is little bit diluted because of second opinion of the stage of cancer. So, thank god, thank you all, I am relieved ..sort of.

The news from Aghlen is indeed a good sign. Wishing all the best. Aghlen is EB1-1 category. So, hopefully will rejoice the stamping and GC in October. Good luck to Aghlen.

Hope there will be no Halloween for the rest of us.

Love you all.

Akbari, Do not feel bad, I am in USA for last 19 years/f1/245i LC 2000, with 2 US born kids/ND 2002, INTERVIEW IN 26 ON May 2005/ins officer wrote nyc pending on passport-nice guy and told me/my wife need more info about me but should hear from them by End of July or August 05. Changed address after the interview called 800 number and sent ar11. But I am still waiting for the approval or something. Mother is very sick not sure If I will be able to see her. All the best

At the beginning of this year, there was a rumor that NYC local office would not schedule most interviews until Oct. Hope it is true based on aghlen's recent interview notice. best luck to all of us!

Hey Folks

coming to this room fills me up with pain sometimes reading fellow waiters saga. You all have been here a long time and been suffering a lot. But hey, don't loose hope in the greater power up there. HE knows what HE is doing and HE does it for the best.

Renewing EAD while 485 pending in NYC

Guys, it's time for me to renew my EAD while I am waiting for my case to be reviewed in NYC local office. Can someone tell me with certainty where I need to file for renewal - VSC or Chicago?

Can you point me to information on USCIS website or other credible source that supports the above?

Many thanks.

I mailed my EAD renewal package to NYC office in Jan, 2005, it was returned and I was notified by them to file to Chicago. I sent it again to Chicago and got the approval in ca. 2 months.

What now?

Anyone has a guess whether NY District Office will continue to schedule interviews for 485 cases with PD after Mar 01? I understand that there are no visa numbers currently available but they could assign them later when the dates become current again.

Does it make sense to make an Infopass appointment to ask? My previous attempts to get any info from officers have been futile but what do I have to lose.

Hey folks

Whatz up. Y is everyone so quiet in here. Chill everyoone, it's not the end of the world yet. There is still hope for everyone of us

Clarify

Newyorker - you posted this on a different board:

"Since you already being transferred the PD retrogression does not affect you in any ways nor does to people who have been transferred after you. Infact people I know are getting their interview letters although their priority dates are 04/01. and Not only that I just saw 5 cases who had their interviews and also passport stamped... I asked and the officer told me that people who are tranferred for the interview need not worry about the prority dates."

Is this speculation??? It makes absolutely no sense. I would love it if you are correct but do you really know what you are talking about?

Let us know.

Yes, you got that right " HOPE". STILL WAITING FOR THE APPROVAL LETTER. DOES ANY ONE KNOW IF SOME GET APPROVAL FROM THE LOCAL OFFICE DOES THE ONLINE STATUS CHANGES FROM TRSNAFER TO LOCAL OFFICE TO APPROVED?

I am asking because, I have change address after the interview in 26 fed. plzza. Filled out the ar11 to the address that was mentioned on the form and also sent one to the 26 fed plazza to the officer who interviewd us. After that I called the 800 number and requested chaged of address, the Gentleman took my information and told me he will ask the local office to make the address change and the local office will send me a confirmation letter to my new address. It has been over 2 months but I did not get any confirmation from the local office for the changed of address. I also did the address forwarding to the post office and getting my mail forwarded to my new address.

My concern if the officer ask for addtional information vie mail which goes to my old address and I missed it there would be problem. I am not sure if that is normal asking for additinal info after the interview. I know for fact a friend of mine who had his case transfered to the local office and made all the necessary address changes but ins still sent letter to his old address and post office did not forward that interview letter to his new address and the letter got sent back to the ins office.

Any thought? appriciated

hi all ! hi newyorker012 ! Is it true that PD retrogression does not effect the cases (i-485's) already being transffered to the district office for interviews. too much confuse . thanks. raman

Hey All,

I have confirmed that thought the PD is in retrogression , cases which have been transferred for interviews will still be getting theri interview letters.
