New Thread for Transfer cases

Question for those guys who got interview letter

What are the thing interview letter asks you to bring for interview. Currently I am in-between(in bench) the projects. As I am hourly employ, my company does not issue salary checks in bench. My question is do INS interview letter specifically ask you to bring last pay stub or just a letter from employer is sufficient which says this guy is currently working with the company .

Thanks for input.

Portalnd-OR

INS asks for employment letter
and previous W-2s (for the last three years.)
They did not ask for pay-checks as such.

  All the best.

Thanks 485 Detroit

Thanks man. I was realy worring about pay-stub, although I haven\'t got interview letter yet. But your input gave me much relief. I will be talking to my attorney today let me see what he says.

Thanks again.

Prakash Easwaran and 485 Detroit

What is employment letter. Is this a letter from the employer that he/she is currently working with the company or is it employment offer letter. My guess is it is first one. When is your interview sheduled?
Thanks guys.

Primary Approved and Dependent Transfered

I saw lot of guys with this situation on this thread...Please share you experience as soon as you are done with the interview.

We filed our I-485 in VSC. I got approved but my wife case was transfer to local INS in Orlando on 04/04/02. Waiting for interview notice....?

Don\'t know the reason... Who ever got the interview notice, can you please share what all they wanted you to bring for spouse.

Thanks

Bharat2000, what is wrong with your case? Why is it transfered to Local INS?

Did you get married after applying for I-485, or something like that?

Interview Date Schedules ?

Atlanta local office 485 processing time
is 456-516 days, refer http://www.immigration-law.com
My NSC receipt date is 4/30/01,
transfered to atlanta office on 5/14/02, so
my case was with NSC for approximately 365 days ,
it looks like I may get interview after 456 days.
I have to wait atleast another 100 days with Atlanta
INS.
I heard local offices schedule interview based on
485 receipt date irrespective of whether you filed
locally or Service Center(Case transfered) ???

My Transfer Notice says I485 Notice date as I485 receipt date.
Interview dates are scheduled based on I485 receipt date ??

sri san

Who told you that Atlanta schedule interview based on Receipt date?
I am also waiting for interview in Orlando INS for last 2 months. Don\'t know how to check the status of the file.

After reading many transfer case messages
in this site , http://pub25.ezboard.com/fimmitrackerdotcomfrm3
and Ciba\'s web site I have a feeling local offices schedule Interviews
based on I485 receipt date, I wish it should be wrong.

Most local offices takes less time to process
comparative to Service centers, so by the time
case transfered they are ahead in the local office
I485 waiting queue, so you can see interviews
in couple of months.

Example my case was with NSC approx 365 days
before it was transfered
I live in atlanta, so case transfered to atlanta,
atlanta processing time is 450-510 days, I may
get interview after 100-150 days.

If I live in Newark,New Jersey (processing time is just 180 days),
so I could expect interview within a month or 2.

Unfortunately Atlanta is one of the slowest INS office,
so I may have to wait 3-9 months or who knows even a year,
last year I have seen some cases waited more than a year in
San Jose office for interviews.

Transfers to Local Offices

The NSC confirmed that it transfers some employment-based cases to the local offices for interview when there is a derivative spouse I-485 application involving a relatively recent marriage. This transfer to the local office will slow the adjudication of the case considerably.

Case xer to local office - ND 2000

Prakash - my case has been xered to local INS office . Can you shed some light on what can be expected from local office, and why the transfer!!! I gather you recd the interview notice
Reply is greatly appreciated

parasite

bastards at nsc transferred our case to chicago even though we were married more than a year before applying I-485.

just our luck to be stuck with chicago. it\'s a black hole there. nobody responds to queries. we\'re put into the que with all the other local cases like family-based, etc, etc. is that fair? after all the labor certs, H1\'s and I-140\'s?

Wife case transferred to local INS chicago

Primary applicant approved 2 months back and I heard today from AVM
that wife case has been transferred to local INS in chicago. Already wife case has taken 450 days in NSC and now this trfr..
I have seen postings that it will take another 6-8 months for an intvw. My friend wife case was also transferred and she is waiting for 4 months and no intvw yet.
Any idea what time frame is local INs in chicago sending the intvw?
Is it based on RD/ND or trfr date? I read one case in where contacting senator seemed to speed up the intvw. Any suggestion for how long further I shud wait before contacting senator (already > 450 days in nsc)
Wife ND 1/22/2001
We got married 3 months before I applied for her case so i think it is definately marriage related. Infact today only i read in murthy chat that NSC is sending to local ins these type of case and it is delaying it considerably.

I wish my attorney never had applied from NSC ans my I104 and labor was cleared from csc because my co is in CSC.

Hey RGN828

Wow, congrats on your interview letter. Yeah I\'m stuck in the same boat but my ND is 3/01 and my transfer to the local Chicago office was in 1/02. I guess there\'s hope that the interview will come soon hopefully since my ND is just a few months after yours.

Hey my wife has an appointment to show her docs to pick up an EAD renewal and it\'s at 9:15am. Does she have to line up at 7am like the rest of the crowd? When they start turning away people because they\'ve max\'d out on the quotas per day can she still enter because she has the green appointment letter?

Reasons for Case Transfer

My Guess

1. Married few months around I485 receipt date
2. Address Changed(different city) since I485 receipt date
(INS suspects Job changed, Laid-Off etc)
3. Very Old Cases
4. I140 approved for Consular Processing but
   applied I485 AOS
5. Finger Print Problems
6. Possibe Out of status (LIFE 245 cases)

Not all cases are transfered but they pick
few lucky people like us :-(

Local Transfer notice question

My case was transferred to Local office on May 17th as per AVM.So was my spouse\'s case.Received transfer notice for self on May 25th. Will we receive a transfet notice for spouse case too?

Prakash Eswaran and Portland-OR.

Prakash,
I lost my W2 for this year but got a duplicate from
my company. ( If you lost the one for two years ago,
I think it is OK.) Remember to make copies.
   They want copies only.

 PORTLAND-OR:
They want an employment letter stating these:
  - You are currently employed.
  - Indicate your salary.
  - Indicate number of hours you work/week.

 Hope this helps.

Chotu...

I did not receive a transfer notice for my wife
but since her case is dependent on mine, it went along
with my case. (I called local office to confirm that.)

So, you MAY not receive a X\'fer notice for wife.
