problemo: no RDs
spoke w/ the iio today. enjoyed the wait. finally got her on line but she was in a rush. i had to rush too. i asked her, how come no receipts for me even though i applied long time back b4 few others in my co. who already got them. her voice, " it depends upon case by case". My translation: It depends upon my rahu and ketu.
so better have ur questions jotted down on a piece of paper b4 u call.
no matter what, i got my response.

No Receipts but got AP yesterday...
Hey Everybody,
I have not yet got the receipts but yesterday I got the APs for my wife and myself by mail (approved on 09/13). I knew, the check got cashed on 08/23 and I do have the 6 WAC#s from the check, I do not know the RD and other details though.
Even if I have the AP, that does not help me getting the iEAD though, but we desperately need that... i don\'t know what to do. I think we need to show the receipts to get the iEAD done...
Any suggestions...

Congratulations on getting AP.
I read some where on this board that, if you don\'t receive your receipts then take photo copy of the check (that has WAC numbers) and go to local INS and ask for iEAD (ofcourse after 90 days passed after RD). If the officer is co-operative then he or she can give you iEAD by checking the information in the system. The only problem with this is you need to know what is your RD to count 90 days, probably you can call IIO to find out your RD or you can use your mailing receipts and courier delivery confirmation to prove that INS received your application on so and so date.
By the way clearely either INS didn\'t mail your receipts to you or due to some problem they got missed in the mail. You can talk to an IIO and verify when your receipts are mailed and to what address they are mailed. Also ask IIO about how to get duplicate receipts or how to get iEAD without receipts etc.

Thank you PCee. Actually I haven\'t yet called IIO only because that takes a long time. During office hours it is almost impossible to spend that much of time on personal phone call. But now I\'ll have to do that. Let me see.

Got the Interim EAD from INS San Jose. Reached at 3:50AM, around 50 people are a head of me, line started moving at 7:00am. I cM out at 11:08AM. Got the IEAD for 1 year (Yes strange, I double checked) Wifes valid for 8 months.

Info on receipts/iEAD - advise requested
Hey Everybody,
I just got an e-mail from my lawyer that he has all my receipts. I do not yet know when he received those as he is on vacation in India and for some unknown reason his assistant keeps on telling me that they do not have my receipts. Anyway, my lawyer will be back on the 25th of this month, and he says he will be sending the receipts to me on Wednesday.
Now my question is do I need to have the original receipts to get an iEAD or photocopies will do? I can then ask them to fax me the receipts and then they can send the original copies to me. I can then take the fax copies to INS on Thursday to get the iEAD done.
Anybody who got their iEAD done recently, please advise.

I got the IEAD on 9/21. Both me and my wife gave the Original EAD Receipt. When we went to two different counters, mine original receipt was returned while my wifes original was kept by INS. I never tried with photocopy. Its better to take originals. Hope this helps.

did you take just the receipts for 485 and EAD
or do we also need to take a copy of the 485 and ead

Finally my checks got cashed yesterday...
Finally my checks got cashed in yesterday. Now I am waiting for my receipts. I hope and wish that still I will have proper RD and ND, note that they were suppose to be cashed in on 8/24 and instead they got cashedin on 9/24.
