New thread for June, 2001 I-485 Mailers to CSC

Check cashed on 08/24/01 - NO SIGN OF RECEIPT!

Hi PCee and all,

I just came to know from my office that the check (a single check was sent for my wife and myself including all the fees - I-485/EAD/AP - for both of us)was cashed on the 24th of Aug. But I do not yet have the receipt, neither do my lawyer has it.

I\'m worried about this because my wife has a job offer and she is just waiting for her EAD. But if we want to collect an iEAD after 90 days, we need to show them the receipts. So, even if we call IIO, and get all the details, we will not be able to have iEAD - I guess.

What do I do now? Anybody has any suggestions!!!

What a coincidence!!!!!!!!!!!!! Same has happened with me. My checks were cashed on 24th, No receipt yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your checks are cashed means, your information is entered into the system. As you wrote you can call IIO and get WAC number etc. I have no idea why receipts are taking so long, even though your checks are cashed. I hope and wish that you will get your receipts soon.

For iEAD, I guess you have some time. Probably you can wait unitl Sep. 22nd. By then I am very confident that you will get your receipts if not you can call IIO and ask them how to get iEAD without reciept, or how to get a copy of receipt etc.

My checks are not cashed yet (I just checked with my bank). I called IIO again today in the afternoon and this time the IIO was very patient. She searched the system with my last name and Date of birth and said that there is nothing matching in the system.

I know that as per UPS tracking my application reached INS on 06/29 but I don\'t know what is happening!

Just waiting with hope :(

UNIQUE PROBLEM!!!

Hi Everybody,

I think I have a unique problem. Today I went to the Accounts Dept to double check that my checks really got cashed... Now I have a photocopy of that check(returned after it got cashed). It actually got cashed on 08/23 and not on 08/24 and it has 6 hand written WAC# in it (supposedly against those numbers it was cashed) 01-265. I checked with the AVM, and these are all valid WAC# entered on 08/23(hopefully for my wife and me).

But I don\'t yet have the receipt!!! What do you guys suggest - shall I patientlywait for few more days or shall I call IIO to check whether they can send a duplicate receipt.

 Today I called IIO to find out my receipt status. IIO is not willing to accept my request to search their computer for my receipt. What she was asking is if have copy of bank checks encashed it will have WAC#\'s on the back and then she can help she said. May be you can call IIO and ask what\'s happening. Since you have WAC number\'s they may help. By the way how you got the copy of checks. Did you attorney gave you or those checks belongs to your account. Please let me know. And also I don\'t understand why IIO is not willing to accept my request. I mailed 07/11 and I have USPS tracking information that it reached INS on 07/12. I think I should wait more time. Any suggestions...

Hi jrrashok,

First check whether your checks got cashed or not. You said you packet reached INS on 07/12, I know PCee (refer messages in this thread) mailed his application on 06/28 and his checks have not yet got cashed.

I got the copy of that check from the Accounts dept. of my office.

I think you should give 14 days for any notice from INS (in current case receipts) to reach you (or your attorney) by mail. Since you have WAC numbers you don\'t need to worry yet! Wait for couple more days and if you don\'t receive them by then, talk to IIO and find out when exactly those receipts are mailed? Also make sure that proper address is specified in the 485 filing (I am not sure if you filled your address or your attorney\'s address for communication)!

Yesterday I was checking the forms (photocopies) we mailed, I didn\'t find a place where it asks specifically for an address for communication. In all the forms we have our home address and the form authorizing our attorney has his address of NJ.

So, I\'m not sure which is our address for comminication!!

In Form I-485 Just line above Street#, Apt# there is space to specify Address C/O. If attorney wants to get all the communication then you guys need to fill attorney\'s or company\'s address there. If no address is filled there then you will get those receipts.

By the way do you know "damn" has some specific meaning? If you damn some one means (in a stronger way) you are wishing that that person/entity to go to hell, or your are wishing ruin of the person/entity. In a lighter way your are cursing that person/entity. In some cultures people name their kids with their favorite God\'s name so that in their life time they remember God many times. In the current situation when ever I type your name to give a reply to you... I am not sure what to think about taking your name...

Well..., when I chose the handle "damn ins" the intention/feeling that I had in mind was cursing that entity. Everytime someone takes my name curses the entity... but ya... now we can take it the other way round...

By the way I don\'t have my attorney\'s name in the C/O box. So, we\'re supposed to get the receipt - let\'s keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best. How do they send it, 6 receipts (for 2 of us) in one envelope!/all the details in one sheet - envelope!/2 envelopes!/6 envelopes!How??? I\'m really worried!!

Though I\'m not in the thread I\'m watching this site for quite long time and taking statistics. Like the July thread posted by Kris you have to add one more column for the category too so that I can make sure that it matters for EB2/EB3 category in AOS cases. So if you don\'t mind could you ask all the people in your list to post their Category so that we can give some real picture to the future users. BTW my case is filed in late August.

Does anybody have any suggestion on PCee\'s problem? Ref: "Mailed on 6/28, checks not cashed, no 485 receipts! Please help" discussion added by PCee.

I really don\'t know what will be the best in this situation. He has been doing a great job for all of us, has always been very helpful. Can any of us help him with some suggestions...
