I would like to join the group but I am not sure if I can attend Dec 6. Please count me in and let me know how to contact you guys.
How about meeting in some one's house ?
Hi NJ team,
Instead of meeting at a restaurant, how about meeting in the house of one of us ? This is because, we really can't discuss and plan much in a restaurant. Is any one ready to volunteer to host the meeting ? I have 7 members who have confirmed attendance(including me). So is any of you ready to host a Tea party for 8 to 10 people. If one of you agrees, then we can have a evening meeting (from 4pm to 6pm). I am staying with some bachelors and the place is not neat (typical bachelor house). So please think about if any of you can host the meeting.
One more thing : Let us have a clear plan for the meeting. Let every one come with some ideas. I will try to prepare some agenda and distribute it 2 or 3 days before the meeting. All of you please reserve your calendar for Dec'6. After all, we are doing this for ourselves. This dreaded BCIS has the ability to drag our cases for 3 years.

I assume that except "waitingL1", all the remaining members here are attending the meeting. Please let me know if any one is not going to be make it to the meeting. It is better to have accurate idea of how many people are coming.

Keep up the wonderful job you're doing. We've already formed a similar group(Edison would've shared with you already) in Michigan. We also successfully had our first meeting. We are gaining momentum with the initiative and I am intending to make it a success.

Meeting Agenda
The main agenda for the meeting is to discuss what we can do to fight the backlog menace. Let us discuss what should be our priorirites, roles and responsibilities. Let us explore the ways to mobilise more people. Let us find out who is our respective congress man and if most of us fall under one district, then we can try to focus on that congress man.
Let us also try to discuss the following sample issues (reproduced from one of my earlier postings for the core team) :
Sample debating topics :

1) Are we going to suggest any minimum amount for contributions from the people in this forum ?
2) What is our top most priority (once we collect funds) ?
3) How is our team going to take final decisions ?
4) How are we going to function as a team ? Is it just by exchanging postings in this forum Or teleconference sessions or regional meetings ? In case of regional meetings, we need regional coordinators. We also need to appoint some people as convenors for different actions (yjay for finance, edison for general actions, xxxxx for legal actions, yyyy for meeting congress men, zzzzz for organizing debates etc).

What is needed is more folks for such meetings. More heads mean more ideas (not true everytime though ).
How about having such meetings in bars. More people show up, and are more open to ideas and criticisms after downing two or three. And yes, participation will definitely be good.
Again this is a serious suggestion, to gather a crowd since the number of people committed are quite few. Give them the weekend incentive.
