AS YOU MAY AWARE, THERE IS EB-3 CATEGORY "UNAVAILABLE" WORLDWIDE AND EB-2 WILL FOLLOW SOON. gc_vsc suggested http://www.fairimmigration.org and asked if they can help us out. It seems to be a good idea. Checked out this website - this is an umbrella organisation having support of about 20 others. From the website, it appears that Marcia Glasgow (mglasgow@communitychange.org) and Deepak Bhargava (dbhargava@communitychange.org) are the people to contact. So it would be good if you can send a mail to them from the yahoo groups explaining to them what our needs are and if they can help us in anyway (forwarding petition, contacting senators/congressmen/ referring more people to our website so as to increase our strength).

US Representative in person regarding Retrogression. Others
who come here to the immigration please send too to help
yourself and help to remove retrogression

Please also update this link if you called your senator or
Congression person who ever it is so that it gives some
encouragement for others to do it. I faxed the letters
to the US representative and two senators and also
called them. Do it before 07/27. Act fast to help yourself

Received an encouraging reply from one of our senators. He told he had already spoken to the proponents of the bill and expressed his support. Also he says he will ensure his voice is heard when the debate continues.

We are getting response to this movement but not in a big way. EB-2 guys are probably relaxing as they see no serious Retrogression ahead !!

I did contact my area Senators and Congressmen and got favourable response from two of them.

A new bill has been introduced by Senator Cornyn and Kyle. They do not specify about the number of visas they want to increase but they are for scrapping Diversity visas and assigning those numbers to Employment based categories we should support this bill.

Hopefully we will have some good news in few months as all the three major Immigration bills now pending are talking about increase in visa numbers. we have to make sure that the senators and congressmen are bombared with emails and requests so that they take this issue seriously.

As the end of the fiscal year approaches, it might be necessary to establish an Employment Second preference cut-off date for September to keep visa issuances within the annual numerical limits set by law.
